NASHVILLE - Van Halen will announce a 50-date American reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth during a news conference in Hollywood next week, sources said.

The arena trek will begin in early October.

yes, they are desperate for cash. I'd probably go if they come to Seattle.

this isn't the first time they've tried to do this.. and it has always fallen apart.

Perhaps this time.. the need for cash will overwhelm their need to punk each other.

Eddie Van Halen has tapped his 15-year-old son, Wolfgang, as the replacement for Michael Anthony in Van Halen, a spokesperson confirms to Billboard.com. Father and son, along with Eddie's drummer brother Alex, have been rehearsing for a 2007 tour, but it is unknown who will serve as the band's vocalist.

won't happen. Eddie just needs to feed his ego by seeing his name in the news every so often.

I think he has partied too hard and needs the cash :)

Heard him sing at the rock and roll hall of fame,his voice sounds great cant say the same for David Lee. I also respect the fact he has never spoke badly about VH and he had every right to.Also Sammy doesnt need to tour anymore:

I still have the image burned in my mind from the 2000 IA2000 show when David Lee Roth pulled his sopping spandex pants away from the sagging flesh of his belly, wiped the sweat off his balls, and handed it to the adoring pornstars in the front row. I'll skip this one.

That is how I feel too.
I am going to see RUSH next month. Rush is a class act and I'll see them anytime. Genesis is doing the tour too, and I will most likely see them this summer.

Saw them with Hagar and they rocked. Roth is over the hill.
