iPhone - to buy or not to buy
So, I'm strongly considering buying an iPhone ( even though I hate Apple ). I spent about an hour at the AT&T store today comparing it to other PDAs. Can I hear from those who own one or bought a competitor phone instead?
BTW, how come those iPhones go for the same (if not bigger) price on there than in the actual store? Is there a difference in buying it on eBay or the AT&T store? |
i like my gps hp ipaq, its sexy.......
although the iphone is appealing to me like nuts |
If you can afford to buy the new iphone when it comes out then I say go for it. Otherwise I would hold off for now.
|
I'm going to be picking one up soon just for development purposes.
|
Wait for a version with 3g, ATT edge network blows the cock.
|
You can now get refurbished ones from the Apple store online cheaper. I got one the 2nd day they were out and love it. The edge network may be slower than 3g but it's a phone and I don't expect speed like I get from my cable line at home.

I have one and I love it!!!!
I would buy it again in a second.... |
What is the difference in buying it on eBay verses buying it at the AT&T store?

I have a friend who works in development with iPhone and he said to HOLD OFF until the 2G version comes out around the holidays. I agree - it's a cool phone and I would love to have one for "developmental reasons" as well - but I'll be waiting.
I know someone who has one that broke within like 48 hours of use - might have been the 1:1,000,000 that did, but I try not to buy "the first" of anything until those bugs are worked out. |

Worth every penny but wait untill the next generation comes out with all the bug fixes
|
The EDGE network is around 200kbps. It does have Wifi, so put that in perspective. The iphone is $20 per month for unlimited internet as opposed to $30 on a Blackberry or $40 on a Treo/Blackjack.
Depends on what you want to use it for. I like it for browsing the web. Don't like texting on it. E-mail performance is kinda "meh." I've probably used more pda-style phones than everyone on this board, but I don't believe there is a single perfect device for everyone. |

i'm waiting for new version of this shit

Im very happy with my phone right now and Iphone is really expensive.....
|
I haven't had any problems with mine, and I love it. It's pretty amazing. I don't imagine the 2g will be too much different, but if it is, I'll upgrade when that comes out.
You should know that Cingular/Att won't offer insurance on it. Oh, and I've heard from women with long nails that it's really hard to SMS on, because their nails get in the way of the touch screen (they don't make adequate contact). |
Kind of useless
I have an iphone first of all you cant send picture messages on it thats pretty wack. You cant bluetooth data like songs or images to another phone . There is no way to customize anything it feels like a toy. No video recorder either cmon for 600!!! My treo felt like a supercomputer next to this thing

I dont have an iphone but got a perfect info from this topic

I want to buy IPhone but it isnt in Moscow yet :(

There are a few things that are fucked up like not being able to have email alerts, sync up your calendar with Y! or video record. But those are the features that I can live without for the technologies that are offered in the phone.
I have compared it to many other phones like Blackberry and Treo. Those "frontrunners" are absolute crap. Yes, they have a better technology but the UI is so retarded that it's not worth it. I just ordered mine refurbished at the Apple Store for $399. |
Iphone it's a good choice if you have enough money

buy the nokia N95!!
|
It is the best phone I have ever had. Its the best ipod I have ever had. I could go on and on.
I would buy from Apple or ATT. I don't play the refurbished game on things like this. You are more than welcome to icq me if you have questions, |
