how do you know when you need a new router?

I have a linksys wireless-G router I don't remember the model number of the top of my head but anyway,

I am trying to set my room as my webcam studio for when I do webcam shows but the damn thing is not connecting properly to the router that is in the living room. I am trying to avoid having a long ass cord come from the living room, pass the kitchen and too the bedroom since I am renting it does not make sense to do all the work to have the wires all around the place.

So I am wondering If I need to get a new router or buy a 50 or 100 feet Ethernet cable.

Turn off the gateway settings, and just use as subrouter, should find everything you need through http://192.168.1.1 or whatever IP the router was assigned from your main router on the DHCP table.

Hi minniesoporno

If you don't have anything blocked port wise and you are letting the DHCP assigning the lan ips and your system is showing a lan ip but not the wan connection on your lan... then it might be a simple issue of renewing the network connection as to update your computer with the current ip address of your router... sometimes the router and a pc can get out of sync...

Go to view network connections if you are using windows and renew or fix your connection...

Hope this helps you out... :upsidedow

Later,
