Tired of Bitching About Torrent/Warez Sites
 

I am tired of hearing all of this bitching about how torrent sites and warez sites and on and on are killing pay sites. If you don't have any surfers, its because your sites either suck or fail to entice the surfers into joining.

So, instead of bitching, whining and carping, lets think of ways to use these sites and their fucking traffic to our advantage. Give surfers a reason to join your site instead of whining.

I'll start:

Take some of your older content that is already floating around everywhere (and getting downloaded) and seed it yourself. The versions you seed are edited to include a special offer as a sort of advertisement along the bottom of the content, promising surfers who join a freebie if they join for a month at the regular price (not the $3.99 trial).

My idea for the freebie is an exclusive, not available online "item", perhaps a DVD, of the site's best performer. Or, instead of a DVD, you could do a seductive greeting card signed by the actor themselves. If you must, limit it to the first 2,000 (or whatever) people to join. Then you seed your content out to the trackers and wait for them to join up.

You used to get a toaster when you opened a bank account. Banks are not hurting for accounts now, the porn industry is. So now, you join a paysite, you get a DVD or whatever in the mail.

And if you are going to tell me my idea sucks, present a better one.

What warez or torrent sites do you own? If you support them, you support content theft. There is no way around that.

No, the 10 other websites bullshit has always been bullshit. In all honesty, everytime I have joined a paysite the other 10 sites crap was a scam to upsell me on another join. Or the other "sites" were more like galleries or MGP stuff, over promised and under delivered. I am betting most other surfers have figured that out by now and are not bothering with it.

And the key here is that this is something exclusive. Not something they can get from the torrents, or another paysite. Its something desirable, something they cant get elsewhere and thereby incentive for them to join.

Not a bad idea at all but that would only help the Sponsor make sales; it does nothing to address the problem from the affiliates' standpoint.

I don't own any warez or torrent sites, though I did run a FTP back in the day.

When you tell a surfer (on a site where you are bragging about 10 gazillion videos and 40 gazillion stills) that if they join you you'll give them access to 10 of your other quality sites and then send them to 10 galleries, yes, thats a scam. And if you think that is acceptable, then you should re-think your entire business plan.

Here's a really stupid idea.

Give the member buying 30 days membership 30 days worth of good content to consume. I told you it was stupid.

But to expand. Your average member will not burn more than $3 in BW over a month. This is $0.30 a day and equates to4-6 videos, depending on quality. So make sure the site you're selling a 30 day membership is worth the money. 6 x 30 = 180 videos.

OK that's the numbers side. Now make sure the videos are worth looking at and not poor quality or miss the mark totally. If you don't know what this means what the fuck are you doing selling porn.

Stop selling sites with 30 videos. Make sure the videos are good and worth the money. STOP THINKING YOU HAVE THE SURFER BY THE BALLS. You don't own him and Torrent sites are spanking you because of it.

You can also sell him sites offering more than the computer porn. Ipod porn videos or mobile phone porn videos. But that would mean me spamming. LOL

Fine, here is another FREE idea for you all to defecate on:

You contact some of the larger trackers and talk to them about a joint deal whereby you'll have your talent make a special exclusive video for that tracker site, the talent will say their name, etc (fansigns for torrents, basically) them, but it will have your ad embedded at the bottom or at the end or at the beginning or whatever. You'll also seed it on a suitable server that can handle the load, in exchange, they agree to feature it on their site up top. I would bet some of the sites would get involved purely so they could tell THEIR surfers how special they are because So and So is rubbing her nipples while saying their domain or whatever.
