Spunky from SpunkyCash.com - a fair warning

About a year and a half ago I tried to launch a solo girl paysite, www.playwithparis.com - before doing so Spunky had an interest in the model and offered to pay me for her instead of me making the site.

I declined, however after launching and running the site for a couple months I decided to sell the site to him.

The deal was to receive 10k upfront and another 10k as it is accumulated from the site's revenue at a rate of 50%.

Spunky was nice enough when he flew Paris and I to his place to do the deal, and trusted me staying there for a couple of days, pretty much unattended, even though we were pretty much strangers. I of course obliged by not causing any problems as a guest of his home.

Everything went well there and I went home with my 10k.

It is now a year and a half later and I still have not received 8 of the additional 10k that he was supposed to send me. My mistake for making a kind of deal like this, even though we have a contract written and signed, and it's been nothing but a pain trying to contact Spunky about it. He ignores me and basically avoided the situation for over a year straight.

I stopped bugging him for awhile, but it's now been a year and a half and I still haven't received anything. Also - I sold the website to Spunky with Paris in mind because since the site wasn't doing so great when I was running it, I thought allowing her to work with someone more professional and established would be a better experience for her. Not the case - the site ended up making less and Spunky has also been extremely shifty in the way that he pays (or lack of payment) Paris.

So just a warning to anyone getting started, or anyone that is a little too trustworthy, don't make the same stupid mistake I did of dealing with a shady dude like Spunky unless you get everything you're asking for upfront.

Also, if anyone has any advice of what I could do about this I'd be glad to hear it - I still have the original contract we both signed a year and a half ago.

I sold www.playwithparis.com to Spunky over a year and a half ago, and he didn't pay me 8k of what he owes me for it, he avoids me and ignores me and is all around a shady individual that you shouldn't deal with if you don't have to.

Not very likely that it didn't even make 20k (to give me 50%, 10k) in one in ahalf years under his program - but even if that were the case he would still be obliged to pay me 50% of what it has made, which is well over the additional 2k I received. :disgust

I remember when that site went live. I had some galleries out, then the it sold, and the links went dead. I never picked up promoting it again.

You should always get the money up front and your done. My friend sold his restaurant that way and within 2 yrs he had it back.

So you saying the guy who claims to be getting screwed really screwed you and lots of others.... Typical.

It's the buyers responsibility to make sure the old links work or don't work.

No, not really. I just know that it left a bad feeling for me in terms of promoting it anymore. I have no knowledge about who made the determination on what happened to existing links.

Doesn't sound like you have gone about collecting your money very thoroughly.

Formal letters, lawyers, putting it to collection etc. Sending the odd icq is not really the way to go.

You're right, I didn't think it would have to come to that but I guess those will be the next steps.

i know someone who started here earlier than 2003.. i might mixed up with the guy you were talking about.. but the guy i know has been using bucknaked nick on some local boards and his design style is pretty much the same with spunkycash sites actually i was assuming he did those sites and other sologirls sites that looks like spunkycash sites.. you'll see his style on galleries as well... what a coincidence maybe.. i'll try to make a search...

There WAS some other drama at that time as well involving Traci, and he was on the sidelines of that one as well since he was doing designs.

The biggest problem with BN is that he's a nice guy and he tends to take on far more work than he should and undercharges for friends etc. so he sometimes ends up getting himself into cash flow and time problems.

Did you actually read the thread? It appears that Lens was pissed off about some gallery templates that he never got so started posting "examples" of BN ripping people off that were misleading when taken out of context. It also apears that BN was fully intending to do the galleries etc. but, as I pointed out above, he probably got himself into a jam.

I've heard enough about Lens from people that have worked for him and watched the way he does things on this board (like banning Alison Angel) for example, to know that I could never take anything he said as fact.

Basically what I'm saying is that BN gets himself into jams which gets people pissed off and they start calling him a scammer etc. but I have yet to see him come right out and scam. There's a difference in my opinion.

As far as kapopoy, if I somehow owe you money hit me up on icq let me know who you are and we'll square it away... I may take forever to get work done sometimes and to pay people but they do get paid.

For the record, I am not hungryman or pinoy, I'm just a 35 year old dude from ohio trying to make it in the online jizzbizz...

And yeah I have done an assload of work for spunkycash, and as far as I'm concerned there are two sides to every story, and neither are any of my business, as long as I do the work and I get paid...

Op if you have a contract and ageement, why come to a board about it instead of going to a lawyer and handling it like a professional?

Lens was pissed at buck for not getting the galleries done in a timley manner, Buck has a hard time saying NO and sometimes ends up getting overloaded..

I personally know the matter was resolved and Lens got every gallery.

Anyone that works with Buck on a constant basis knows he'll get it done and it will be quality work, just takes a little extra time sometimes, but well worth the wait...
