Anyone have a personal chef service?
Anyone have a personal chef service?
Someone who makes 7 or so dishes a week you can pop in the oven and cook? How much does it run you? |
Every time I go for takeaway. :thumbsup

This chick named Marie Callendar creates some good dishes for me. Costs maybe $3 to $6 per plate?

my brother in law is a personal chef, he has about 5 clients that he cooks for 5 days a week
he gets everything ready and pops it in their fridge with instructions and gets paid MAD money for it |
A friend of mines wife is just starting a business like this. She is a chef and is tired of working in restaurants. From what I understand she is going to charge cost of groceries plus $25 per hour for her time. She will cook as few as 7 dishes and as many as 20 in a day, seal them and put them in the freezer so you just have warm them up.

I have a lady that cleans my house for $15/hr. (usually $45 total) every two or three weeks or so. I am trying to talk her into cooking my favorite meals for me too once a week and cleaning up afterwards.

nah we just eat out. :)
there's nothing i love more than tipping for good service. |
I am my own chef. it's more rewarding cooking it your self , if you can read you can read a recipe.

Damn, I'd love to have a a chef to cook for me. I have a wife and she makes the usual stuff like meatloaf, roast, pork chops, but nothing out of the ordinary like a professional chef could make.
|
I had one when I was in the burbs. It was the best thing EVER. She had a huge variety of things she cooked that I'd get to choose from. Funny story: since I worked at home, I heard of a tornado warning one day. She had to turn everything off in the kitchen and she and the dogs and I headed to the basement until the warning sirens stopped ;)
There's another service I'm looking into now but I have to drive to pick the food up (hell, I can't even get Dominos to deliver here). |

Usually those get very boring very fast. I've considered one but buying from different local deli's is way better. Just find the ones that do home-made food ( like European cousines ) and shop there.
Though the best way to do it is to get a gf/wife. You get to eat way more than just potatoes. :-) |
