99.9% of Websites Are Obsolete
An interesting topic.
http://www.digital-web.com/features/..._2002-09.shtml As an aside, how many of you actually follow web design standards and trends?!? |
your sig is pwned
|
i follow standards, i don't follow "trends". i may not follow the latest standards, but browsers are usually backwards compatible, so it's ok. i figure, why turn *any* potential customer away?
reminds me of the bad old days of Netscape 2 when people would not allow anything but the Mozilla USER_AGENT in, instead of just making their page w/ standard components. losers. |
Interesting.
Eh, what the fuck.... who cares aniway? |
heh i know the guy who ran/co-runs digital-web. there's a lot of new-age talk there, but to support the legacy crowd, you can't be bleeding edge.

My pages load and look about the same in IE, Nutscape 4.7 and Nutscape 7.xx so I guess I follow standards...All free pages and the surfer's so far like'm... Well I should say I guess they like'm they keep coming back....:winkwink:

btw, to call the sites "obsolete" is silly. the site is about the content, not the style/how it is presented.

I beg to differ. The whole 'content is king' is still very much in effect..i agree with that. But most surfers are smart. They want more. More organization, more options, more flexibility, etc. How that content is presented is just as important as the content you are presenting. Go the extra mile on presentation while incorporating extra features using todays technology (especially in a paysite), will do wonders. Pave a new road on how the content is presented..weather it be a TGP or a paysite. Simply stated, be better then the rest. Surfers will take notice. I mean, why not? A goal like that can't hurt your bottom line, only help increase it. :2 cents: |
