Best software for making thumbnails (for galleries)?

I've been using easy thumbnails, but was wondering if there's anything better out there, specifically something that will automatically crop the images as well?

You can trick out PhotoShop to run actions for watermarking and cropping and for building the actual gallery.

I know some people use the arles one, but I tend to trust photoshop with anything involved with imaging when it comes to my sites.

Still use Gena sometimes. Works fine. Setup templates to do the whole gallery.

Fireworks and Dreamweaver is what I use most of the time.

Photoshop is great some enterprising person should be able to set up an apple script or even an action to do all the grunt work. Then he or she could offer that for sale on GFY, im sure it would sell well.

i dont know about cropping, but old acdsee proggie can make thumbnailed page from any directory on your hdd. you just configure how much pics per page, how big previews you want, if you want to add filename, how many rows etc ... then its about one click ;)

I used Arles Image Page Creator years ago when I used to build galleries.
