Heading to SAN DIEGO Tomorrow. What are some good Beaches? Good area to stay?
Heading to SanDiego tomorrow. Where's a good area to stay? Downtown Area ok??
Also whats some cool places to check out? Its been around 7 years since ive been down there. I remember Mission Beach was the place to check out back then. Is that a good beach? Any others I should see? Also whats cool around town? |
I was thinking of booking here. Its pretty central. And I like Marriot's when we travel casual and domestic..
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...iego-downtown/ Good area? Seems central to everything. But not sure what everything is. What the fuck is a gaslamp district? Do I need to go see it? |
Was also looking at this up in Coronado area of SD..
But not sure if thats a good place to camp out or not either. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...rriott-resort/ |
Or Mission Valley..
|
hit up sly, hes into surfing, not sure what beaches he hangs out at.

Comeon man.. Not even the Anal Hobbit would hit down that low. I actually have some respect for the guy. |
Are you going with the family or is it you and the boys? If its the family then I'd stay on Coronado as the beach is mellow and it won't have all the congestion of the Gaslamp. If you want to save a little on the hotel and want to be close to the zoo, sea world, shopping and downtown then you could always stay in Mission Valley if you don't have to be on the beach.

Hmmm.
So from the looks of it, there is no real need or advantage to stay downtown?? I was looking to book there, but it appears there are better advantages staying elsewhere. |

I must be missing an inside joke here.. Havent been on GFY as much this summer from all the travel. |

Ok.. LAJolla it is.. Ok, so I can go to the nive beaches, but how far is the beach with the bitches from this place? Mission or Pacfic that is. Is it far? |
Head up 101 North about 25 miles to Encinitas - some great beaches there. More of a local surfer crowd, and less touristy...

That Marriot hotel downtown is a nice hotel.
Dine in the mission valley area for old school steak houses, benny hannas etc.. and la jolla for more of the expensive classy resturants. Little Itally (I used to live here) if your into anything Italian.. food.. wine etc... Sight seeing.. check out La Jolla and anything on the coast side north of la jolla. Beaches... Pacific Beach is good.. La jolla beach is good. hope that helps |

Even the evenings are great.. Im in La Jolla, pronunced "La Hoya" (I found out the hard way, very embarassing. Im a fucking dumbass. My wife wont stop laughing. I was arguing with a Mexican Bellhop in Anahiem where " Lah-Jahlah" was.) I love it here. La Jolla is great. Perfect.. Staying here for a few more days. Tomorrow night going to be hanging in the Gas Lamp district in downtown SD and during the day Seaworld. Love it here. |
Gas Lamp is cool
You can also find some action south of the california border in TJ |

And I swear, like in the airports, I must look the least menacing crossing the TJ border. Crossed it about 4 times in the past year and twice they didn't even ask for ID - the other two times they barely looked at it. |
