Accounting Software for Small Businesses

For those of you that are incorporated and don't let your accountant do everything for you, what software do you use?

Let me know what good/bad experiences you've had.

Thanks.

Why? I was actually looking at this.

My needs are fairly simple. I'm not billing anyone or anything like that. I just need to keep track of all my revenue and expenses, and be able to quickly qhip up Balance Sheets, P&L Statements, etc. And I would LOVE something that would allow me to easily do my taxes. I paid an accountant last year, and it cost a fortune.

I will agree with all of the Peachtree users. We managed tons of recurring bills on a monthly basis, as well as recurring invoices... It is totally automated. You can easily make system modifications, create your own custom reports and templates, and it is pretty easy to move around in. As well - if you have a good savy programmer, you can program into Peachtree. This way if you have web-based transactions that you don't want to re-enter, you can have them imported automatically. It took me a good weekend to get the system setup - but I save SO MUCH time it was well worth the effort!

intuit is constant barrage of ads. you buy the software and then it asks you "Do you want to be able to do FOO? Yes/No" and you click "Yes" and it's like "To do this you'll need to upgrade please have your credit card ready."

that, plus all of the constant annoyances involved with credit card billing (there was no way to do recurring billing when i had it for my small biz).. ugh. just avoid it. :)
