Need a new Laptop QUICK!

budget hmm, lets say $500-$1000.

Not too fussed about games and stuff. Need it more to be lightweight, travel easily.

Most important part is that it has to be quick, quick ram and stuff.

Do you recommend any?

scottybuzz 09-15-2007 06:45 AM

P.S. should I go vista or not for that budget?

don't do Vista, it fucking blows right now.....Vista can be fixed up nice so it works well, but it takes hours of config shit to get it there

vista is loaded with digital rights management. I'd wait and save more and get a macbook.

Realizing whatever I got is probably going to be destroyed in a year, I opted to get an HP system.

They have pretty decent customizable options (upgrade from 1 to 2 gigs of memory for 50 bucks, nvidia graphics card addition for 79 - 100 bucks, free upgrades to 120 Gig HD (from 80)), and I've always trusted the name.

Problem with not getting Vista is that, in most places, you'll have to pay more for another OS.
