Is there a StatsRemote or similar program for a Mac?

Can anyone point me towards software that does the same thing as StatsRemote but for a Mac? Does any company offer an option for Mac users? Or does every adult webmaster have a Mac and a PC or just a PC except myself?

Thanks for any help with this matter.

geeknik 09-15-2007 09:05 AM

There is nothing of the sort. Sorry.

EthnicLover 09-15-2007 09:11 AM

Thanks geeknik for the sobering news. I guess I should purchase a PC if I want to cut down on stats checking time. Oh well.

Is it that difficult to create a similar software package for a Mac or is there not a big enough market?

Actually I'm interested to know if most webmasters on gfy use a PC or a Mac or both?

On another board JB from StatsRemote said this:
"Quite a few people run StatsRemote on their Mac using parallels. Also, we should have a Mac version ready later this year (probably in fall)."

Don't know the status of it.

Personally don't use SR.
Almost exclusively Mac.

I in a similar boat, been running StatsRremote on VMware for Linux for years now... If you have a newer intel-based mac you can too with VMware or Parallels :)

A Sun Java version is in the works now that will be multiplatform though (who's idea was it to go with MS Java in the first place?)

Dvae - thanks for the info regarding StatsRemote. I'll look into their situation , to see if they have a Mac version in the works.

fuzebox - Unfortunately I don't yet have an Intel based Mac but I plan on buying an iMac in the near future. It would be great to be able to utilize software made for PCs and not have to buy a PC. Thanks.

the new version for mac is in the works...he said LATE this year, so I am thinking November or December

in fact, I believe he said it is java based so it is universal, working on all os platforms

That's correct. We're in the process of developing a completely new version of StatsRemote which will be multi-platform... will take a few more months though.

BTW the reason why we went with MS Java was that back in 2001 quite a few things wouldn't have been possible with SUN Java and we decided to go with MS Java in order to be able to offer all the features we wanted. Now the situation is completely different.

StatsRemote can email you your stats every 15 minutes, hour, 2hours .... 24 hours but you probably mean RevStats. They emailed you your stats every day or every week depending on your plan and they stored all your stats online as well. Their site is still online but AFAIK they haven't updated anything for years.

Wow thanks for all the info. JB I emailed support to be put on the beta list per your post on AskDamageX about a Mac version. A multi platform version of StatsRemote is going to be fantastic. Can't wait for that one to come out.

I actually just checked out RevStats at Revstats (dot) com and they're still in business. They appear to have around 400 programs within their software program but the cost for unlimited account tracking is from $49 to $99 a month. Seems a bit high, especially for not having near as many programs as StatsRemote.

We will let you know as soon as we're going into beta. There's no real ETA yet.
