People with knowledge of mainstream dvds... or fighting videos/extreme videos etc

I have 20-30 clips of street fight clips..15 or so videos of extreme footage like car crashes, demolitions, street races, girls flashing etc etc etc.... these videos have not been released anywhere else..

what is the best way to make money off this?

is there any good affiliate software that can be used to push an extreme dvd like this?

selling these clips to a site like break.com or filecabi.net is not an option, as they would only probably pay 400/video.. i'm more intrerested in a dvd production route...

also... i have unlimited access to shit like this, all unseen and 100% unique...

Are you just looking for a company that would distribute the finished product?

that could be an option as well..

but how many companies would really take on distribution of that kind of product?

Big Vision Entertainment used to do a lot of those types of videos. Kevin Kleinrock, who used to be involved in the distribution of Extreme Associates DVD's, either owns or runs that company. They distribute pro wrestling and backyard brawls/ghetto fights types of DVD's...

Would it really be hard to push it yourself?

with videos like that, you could just watermark it, and send a few clips to places like filecabi or break... or other viral video sites... and i'm sure it would get typeins to your site selling the dvd

and a merchant account, and you're set..

no?

You could sell those videos easily yourself, and you could even use Paypal, as I know of a few MMA companies that use them as a processor. The difference is Big Vision has distribution rights to brick and mortar stores like Suncoast Video and Best Buy. If you ever see Ghetto Brawls, Trailer Park Brawls, etc. videos at those stores Big Vision usually distributes them. I guess it depends how big of a scale you want to distribute. If you have unlimited access you could partner with them on the production values and really be on to something...

maybe you could sell it to those cheap ass tv shows who air that crap... those kinda vids go across the world so there is definately a market. Personally i dont understand it, since i really hate those kinda vids, whenever i see something like that being aired here i change the channel immediatly... i cant believe the morons who like to watch that lame shit. Unbelievable.

hehe was expecting this response... no, i dont like that crap. That footage is being used as filler footage on tv channels around here. Its always the same shit - besides "call tv" (people in front of a blue screen, midnight, luring callers to win €500 for €0,50 per second or so) its the cheapest form of tv for the channels. The only people who like it are fat, grease smelling white trash swines on welfare - id rather watch commercials. But like i said, there is a market otherwise it wouldnt be aired.

One thing you should do is talk to a lawyer and see what you need to do to protect yourself from the people in the footage coming back and causing problems. I don't know what kind of notice you may need, if any at all. Probably a business lawyer or copyright lawyer, a business lawyer should definitely be able to help you out though.

Is it possible to have a release that basically says

"any footage of me shot on this day, can be used in any way shape or form, and i will never be able to sue for any reason regarding any of this video"

because i know i can get them all to sign it..

but... is that type of release, even legal?

If so.. that would be great, and i would have a lawyer make a release like that, because they would all sign it..

sonofsam 09-16-2007 11:53 PM

also.... how does the distribution thing work?

if you have a dvd... do you have to pay them to distribute it? or pay them a cost per dvd sold?

or how does that work?
