Who here is just a normal regular webmaster?

I mean come on,

After spending several years in the adult industry watching over
my shoulders and taken notes from the boards. I have come to
my conclusion that many of you here is just not NORMAL.

It's not that you live and breath adult every day but it
seems like it doesn't stop there.

Here is just three
examples of what I mean:

* 50% of the people working in adult are Swingers

* 80% of the people working in adult party
all and every weekend or get them self drunk
or stoned atleast once a week

* 30% of the successful program owners
can't just stop them self from getting in on
the action when they need "exclusive
content" for their pay sites.

* 50% of the people working in adult
have no self dignity and morals, they just
jump on every chance to make a quick buck
without thinking about
the feelings of surfers or creating value
to surfers

My question is: Why is this industry mostly full of abnormal people??

Is there anyone here who see themself as a normal fella?

Personally I have high morals and want to
live in reality and not just live some kind
of "fictionairy life-style" with other people in adult.

I bet most of you just hang around with
Adult folks and get your reality from the
inside bro clubs, am I right??

:)

Peace

I do.

But not sure if I should say Im a typical "webmaster". In fact, I'm not really a webmaster.

but overall you are right, making money with porn doesn't have to mean that you need to live a porn lifestyle. You can just live like a denstist or car salesman, - normal family, normal car, two kids, vacation once per year and friends from outside the industry. Nothing exotic apart from working from your own home and being your own boss. Or - if you are younger, you can live like a normal student, the only difference is that you make more money than your student friends.

After all, porn can be only an occupation, not a lifestyle. But if some people chose to make it their lifestyle, then that's their choice and it shouldn't be your problem.

Funny that you post in this thread, I had you on the mind when I posted this as one of the "normal guys" without living the "life-style". :thumbsup

And you are right, it's none of my business what other people do or how they like to live there life, but it still feels good that there is other people like myself here, just in case someone nears me find out about my adult sites then I refer them to you polish for a talk :winkwink::)

Fictionary lifestyle? That, Sir, does not exist. It's _A_ lifestyle. If you're not into that stuff: Fine. But please don't put yourself above people who like to party. You don't set moral standards.

BTW: I'd qualify as a "normal" Webmaster..at least in YOUR books.

I think this is an accurate view of the adult community!

Hi maxjohan & polish_aristocrat,

I consider myself to be normal, for the most part... and I think much of the adult industry is 90% hype !!!

Webmasters who are just promoting adult associate program(s), from my experience do not now how to drive good quality traffic to their sites as to do such full time... ( I'm sure there are a few exceptions )

Associate programs seem to earn money however they depend on the webmasters...

Porn stars make money from "acting"... and they do not need to depend on webmaster but rather on things like "movie" sales if gaining commissions...

The funny thing is that adult webmasters are looked down on by everyone, but are the ones to market such content...

:2 cents:

It's just a word for it, most people doesn't live like that outside adult so that's why I said that but I admit I feel a little bit lost in this business sometimes with all the party-goats and the whole package that comes with them.

Okay, we're three now.

Anyone else have something to say? :winkwink:

I don't engage in any of the above activities. I am a married man who isn't a swinger, I rarely drink and live a pretty healthy lifestyle, I've never considered being content and I prefer to spend time with family over rolling VIP to strip clubs.

Violetta 09-17-2007 02:46 AM

I have a job besides adult that means more to me...

My experience is that many people in this biz are normal cool people. But they aren't really the ones that are posting on the boards. They are working instead. I also think that this business draws a certain type of person to it. This is a business where you can literally start with no money out of your pocket. There is plenty of free software out there to use (I don't mean stolen but open source and freeware stuff) You can spend $8 on a domain, have a sponsor host it and look like you know what you are doing. Then you get free content and you are off and running. Even if you only make $350 a week that is more than the average 18-20 year old is going to make working a crappy minimum wage job. When you are used to working for $6.50 or $7.00 an hour suddenly 1400-1500 looks like a lot of money. If you do better it seems like a fortune. I think these young people then start to go a little crazy with their money because it seems like they have struck it rich. They don't think about the business aspects of things and they never take into account that it could change.

yes i m a normal webmaster, i support good values and morals, im a family type guy, im against cultural degeneration and moral corruption

and im sick of hearing words like (anyone belivin GOD in this industry) (anyone has morals)? bla bla bla

and i also against "fictionairy" type life styles.

yea i m building adult websites but i will never live a life style which contains porn acts.

i agree with You Maxjohan, but there is something i don't agree with, i don't care about surfer's fillings, i do this damn business because i make money with it, so i just care about the money inside surfer's pocket, sorry none of them are my father's son.

Peace

Most 'normal' people don't run porn empires for a living. Though, by your definitions I must be normal but many people would argue otherwise.

bDok 09-17-2007 03:33 AM

My title is webmaster, but I do alot more, as for not normal, define normal? I think for the most part people in this industry are just like anyone else, yes we have a few characters, but making a living on the net, most would have a better than average IQ, otherwise we would be making a living doing something we didn't like doing!

tASSy 09-17-2007 07:37 AM

i am not a webmaster. actually, i'm curious as to what we think the definition of that word is, exactly, anymore.

and normal? overrated. :2 cents:
