Iranian President Ahmadinejad to hit NYC for 2 days on way to see friend Chavez
 

i find this pretty amazing that he is allowed access.

Before flying to visit Venezuela, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will stay in New York for two days. He will arrive September 24th and give a speech before the United Nations General Assembly.

This visit, his third in the past two years, follows the recent release of an imprisoned Iranian-American academic who was charged with spying. Another academic is to be released soon.

Regarding his 2005 speech at the UN, Ahmadinejad felt "that all the leaders did not even blink for about 27 or 28 minutes, and I'm not exaggerating." After NYC he will proceed to visit friend and ally President Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

The United Nations is headquartered in NYC. You can't tell the leader of a country he's not welcome at the UN because the host nation doesn't like him. If that was the case the United Nations wouldn't work very well as the US govt has conflict with many countries leaders.

There are a few reasons why, but most of all why not.
Besides being a terrorist and funding and providing the material to kill not just Americans but anyone who doesnt subscribe to Islam.

Why would you be surprised that he's got access??

I guess it's one of the drawbacks to being the host nation to the UN.
