Torrent Site that Won't Take Down Stolen Content

Does anyone have the hosting information for gaytorrent dot ru? I think they are actually hosted in Germany.

I got on their site because they had a lot of movies of a client pirated and uploaded there. When I started reporting the movies, they disabled my account and denied me access, so I need to send my DMCA notices to the host.

Fuckers that use stolen content as their business model and then ignore the producer's request to take it down need to be flogged.

Please keep us informed as to any success you may have with actually getting them to taking down the infringing material.

Thanks

fuck em up chad!

seeric 10-04-2007 09:12 AM

there are numerous sites that will not remove shit. more than will remove actually.

chadknowslaw 10-04-2007 09:19 AM

So far no response but it has only been half an hour. Most hosts I have worked with are good at getting content taken down.

Why not go after the advertisers and set some precedent for contributory or vicarious infringement.

Without the advertisers, these sites cease to exist.

Here is their first response:

Dear Mr Belville

thank you for your request.

Our Customers have full root access to their servers. Unfortunately we are not able to do something against such activities.

how convenient

send them a letter from an attorney, tell them that a copy was sent to the cops, see how their attitude will cahnge

sweetcuties 10-04-2007 10:11 AM

What some of us are doing is:

1. Sending out DMCA notices to rapidshare, megashare, filefactory, depositfiles etc. As long as you can prove you own the content, they will pull it down. I've never tried with a host but it should work the same, even if it's Germany.

2. There's several "buddy" groups out there searching various forums and looking out for each other's content.

Chad is an attorney.

chadknowslaw 10-04-2007 10:25 AM

I just sent them a stronger message, this time with notice that I will begin sending copies of my demands to the German police. Is that what it takes to get their attention??

For fuck sakes, what host wants to deal with this bullshit -- they should have called their client and told gaytorrent.ru to take the stolen shit down so the bastard American lawyer would quit nagging them!

chadknowslaw 10-04-2007 10:35 AM

What is the contact information for the German porn police?

Gasper 10-04-2007 10:50 AM

mmmm free gay porn ..

WarChild 10-04-2007 11:00 AM

Is running a Torrent tracker illegal in Germany? It may not be.

.ru basically means the Torrent site doesn't care what you or any other attorney has to say. Sad reality.

chadknowslaw 10-04-2007 11:04 AM

The torrent site does not care but I am hoping the host does give a shit.

Right, but if running a Torrent Tracker is in fact legal in Germany, which I have no idea if it is or is not, than a DMCA will just probably be ignored.

Torrents, remember, don't store the actual content they store a link that points to where you can find the content. You can't necessarily DMCA that.

Again though, who knows what German laws actually are. Good luck hopefully you make progress.

WarChild 10-04-2007 11:09 AM

Oh yeah, tell your clients thanks because I'm downloadin' yo' gay shit, yo!

EXACTLY!!!

We need to fight against pirates, thieves, and fundamentalists that want to put us in jail for selling pictures of consenting adults TO consenting adults, not fight each other.

Brad Mitchell 10-04-2007 12:18 PM

Chad,

Send DMCA notices to Deutsche Telekom (10 GBit), Level(3) (2x 10 GBit) - those appear to be their main providers. That should get their attention. I know for sure Level3 doesn't fuck around with DMCA notices.

Brad

pornguy 10-04-2007 12:24 PM

Chad. remember that if the HOST wont take it down, the company they use as a connection to the backbone of the net MIGHT. you can always contact them as well.

They don't give a fuck because nobody has gone after them legally. If there were a case were advertisers were held liable, believe me, they would start caring.

I'd love to see someone step up and sue the fuck out of them and really wish someone would, this shit is getting out of hand, we have programs that post on this board supporting content theft and paying the thieves to steal from the very people that are suppose to be there friends, it's fucked

I'd love to see it too, but I have a hard time believing it will ever happen. How do you sue a company for advertising or allowing affiliate links on a site that provides links to illegal content when that site is not hosting illegal content, and is therefore legal?

at the absolute very least those in the industry should blacklist and refuse to do any business with any of the companies (and their owners) that advertise and therefore support the theft sites
