What Is Your Experience Like With Moniker?

Hello everyone. Over the next few months I will be registering around 50 domain names for my new mainstream projects. I am reading a lot of great reviews about Moniker. But, I am a bit nervous because I don't know how my experience will be with Moniker. I want to be with a domain company who is not going to give me a hard time, screw me, etc.

1. So, what has your experience been with Moniker?

2. How is customer support? Are they available 24 hours a day like GoDaddy?

3. I am looking for a stable domain company that will be in business for years, how is moniker looking to you?

Thanks For Any Response

kektex 10-04-2007 05:14 PM

I have most of my domains with moniker and I´m moving the ones I have with Godaddy to them. After hearing too many godaddy horror stories I´m moving everything to Moniker who apparently have never lost a domain.

Most of my email support questions have been answered within 6 hours, but they also have a toll free number. Never called it though so I dont know if it´s 24 hour support.

EZRhino 10-04-2007 05:15 PM

Cant go wrong with Moniker. I used all their services at one point or another. No complaints here.

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 10-04-2007 05:16 PM

I have al my names with them.

Would not use anyone else ever.

JFK 10-04-2007 05:17 PM

transferred all my domains to them:thumbsup

BlackCrayon 10-04-2007 05:18 PM

I've only been using them for a few months but so far they're great.

Unlimited 10-04-2007 05:20 PM

using moniker and namecheap...they are both great :)

Barefootsies 10-04-2007 05:32 PM

I've been with Moniker two years and have 80% of my domains there.

The others I will be moving there in the next 30-60 days. I've never had an issue with them in regards to anything domain related.

minusonebit 10-04-2007 07:06 PM

Never used them personally. They have a good reputation.

Fuck namecheap though. God I hate them. Bitches.

AmeliaG 10-04-2007 07:10 PM

Excellent and helpful customer support and good interface. GoDaddy is, in my experience, really awful. Moniker is light years better.

tttcash 10-04-2007 08:00 PM

Thanks everyone. Just registered and purchased some domain names. Called customer service and the rep was very professional and polite.

Moniker has a bright future if they keep up this excellent service

I'm a happy customer

cybermike 10-04-2007 08:11 PM

Moved my registerfly shit to them.. no problems so far

DaddyHalbucks 10-04-2007 08:31 PM

Moniker is top notch.

I have my whole portfolio with them.

Customer service is A+.

I have tried all the big registrars and many of the small ones, and none come even close to Moniker.

:thumbsup

Why is it no surprise that you are the only one spamming in this thread.

I urge anyone who wants to use Moniker to use this direct link instead of Daddy Spambucks spam link: http://www.moniker.com/index.jsp

Evil-Dan 10-04-2007 09:26 PM

Moniker is a porn friendly domain service

but don't ever put all your eggs in one basket

my other favorite domain supplier is www.fabulous.com

I recommend both as very porn friendly

V_RocKs 10-04-2007 09:48 PM

Over priced... Do some research.

smoke 10-04-2007 10:03 PM

I don't like the fact that they charge for URL forwarding. $6.95 is reasonable for registrations but $2 per domain for URL forwarding is ridiculous IMO. Other than that their pretty good, customer service is good depending on who you deal with.

GrouchyAdmin 10-04-2007 10:26 PM

They're decent, but their interface is archaic to the point of nearly confusing, and they upcharge every damn thing that ISN'T a domain name. As a registrar, they're fine - just don't expect any of the freebies that the others give you.

Posting a ref link in a thread about the exact subject matter ain't spamming.

Moniker have been great for me sofar! :)

peterk 10-05-2007 12:04 PM

I heard only good things about moniker :winkwink:

Nikki_Licks 10-05-2007 12:09 PM

Damn, I knew I forgot to do something. I was going to move all my domains a few weeks back and totally forgot.
I have heard nothing but good things about Moniker.

Thanks for the reminder thread :thumbsup

MacDevilish 10-05-2007 12:45 PM

WOW... there is a LOT of LOVE in this thread!!! THANK YOU to everyone, even our quasi-detractors! Okay now for the individual issues:

Grouchy Admin: The interface will be improving steadily over then next year. We brainstormed about improvements and felt that it would be better to introduce the changes gradually, rather than magic-ing up a whole new page and suddenly having the look be completely different... as for the "freebies", you are right, they are few and far between, but I don't mind giving "less-expensive-ies". Give me a yell and I will work on makin' ya a little bit less grouchy.

Smoke: Like Grouchy, give me a yell or hit me up on ICQ, and I will try to clear the air between us!

V_Rocks: Give me a yell and we'll work on getting you better pricing.

Evil-Dan: Eggs in a basket are one thing, but domains are a bit different... That being said, I completely concur that Fabulous.com are a great bunch! We work with them regularly and they feature many of their "for sale" names on our Marketplace. They are a great bunch of lads, and I have no problem giving them the kudos they deserve... if you ever get a chance to talk to Dan Warner, CFO Fabulous.com, take advantage of it... He is one SERIOUSLY smart domain guy. :)

Porn Farmer: Thanks for the posting of the direct link ;)! DaddyH is just a really big fan, and he doesn't mean anything bad by using his affiliate code.

DaddyH: Thanks for being such a consistent fan and supporter! (People really get on you about that Ref Link , don't they?)

CyberMike: I am glad you made it out of RegFly alive, Bro... Many didn't... I think they are even printing up t-shirts about it...

tttcash: CONGRATS! We'll help in any way that we can!

AmeliaG: Thanks for the cheers for us and the blah for GoDaddy!

Barfootsies: Looking forward to seeing the rest of your names! Thanks!

zvaka & Black Crayon: Thanks for the boosts!

JFK: You ROCK, Man! You take pictures like we manage domain names: PERFECTLY! I am hoping that someday I can take photos as good as yours! ;)!

Batts: Cheers, Mate! It's good to have a brother like you!

EZRhino: As always, thank you for lending your muscle and horn to strengthen the kudos!

Kektex: Thanks for the boost! You're right that we have never lost a domain name, and our support is almost to 24 hours... I think it is at 22 now, but we are keeping it all in house (we don't want to outsource it) so we are still in process of tweaking the schedules... by year end it will be 24-7 support!

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE, and if you have any questions or concerns, give me a yell! Cheers!

Good reminder for me to move my domains over... I'm such a procrastinator, argh.

Contact Chris, he just lowered my pricing structure considerably! It's difficult to complain with people like Chris and Bari hooking me up left and right.

minusonebit 10-05-2007 02:22 PM

How much do they charge, anyway?

u-Bob 10-05-2007 04:00 PM

am transferring most of my domains there. love their service :)

It's so easy to do, I just sent Chris a list of over 40 domains and he did the rest. Being a procrastinator is no excuse here. :)

MikeVega 10-05-2007 05:13 PM

I have all but 3 domains with them and the 3 i have with godaddy had issues last week. I'll be moving them over to Moniker also. we've never had a problem with them and Chris is a swell guy. not just because he bought me sushi but because he is .. :)

mn 10-05-2007 05:19 PM

You will never find a better registrar....

Hey tttcash

If you have any questions/concerns about Moniker feel free to hit me up :thumbsup

crockett 10-08-2007 06:34 AM

I have a bunch of names with them now and all of my new names are registered with them. If you are going to be doing bulk contact them and they will give you a better deal on the registrations.

What's your issue with namecheap? I've had nothing but a positive experience with them.

cess 10-08-2007 06:53 AM

They are a bit more pricey than other registrars but I've heard a lot of bad stories(and been through) with most of the others out there so I'm glad I stuck with them. I haven't contacted support that much but they were helpful when I did. Their interface does seem kind of "out of style" but I've seen much worse and it really doesn't bother me anyway.

Dirty D 10-08-2007 07:36 AM

Moniker is a big supporter of .xxx and are more expensive than other registrars.

Support .xxx and you gets no love from Dirty D

gwidomains 10-08-2007 07:39 AM

Moniker is ok, but I think ppl constantly recommend them b/c they are around the webmaster boards more.

But, often e-mails to support at moniker take multiple days to get a response back...

Dont get me wrong, the ppl are good, the objectively though, the support is often lacking.

Klen 10-08-2007 07:40 AM

I just completly moved all my domains from godaddy to moniker, only ws domains remain on godaddy.I wish only moniker had privacy free as namecheap, but you cant have money and sheeps same moment.

Quickdraw 10-08-2007 08:03 AM

Their support :arcadefre in my experience.
Supporting .xxx is probably the biggest strike.

That's not the only reason they get love. It's because of the service. When I signed up, I had never saw them on a board. I heard about them through webmaster radio.

Since moving to them, it took some adjustment at first. They are a bit more expensive than my other 5 domain registrars I had. But, when it came to transfers, and dealing with changing settings, and so forth. Very straight forward and easy compared to the nonsense I have to do with GoDaddy and others when I buy a site. Need to transfer shit into my name. Change nameservers, etc.

Moniker's fast and easy.

Could they add in some improvements? Sure. One I would like to see is a better domainname recommender like netsol has. I have not had any serious issues with Moniker, and when I needed something answered. I called, or e-mailed Chris.

Now he just needs to get me better priceing since I am coming up on 100 sites, and have as may or more for next year.

:winkwink:
