I love Tim Horton coffee - That's Canadian brand to all Americans here

I love Tim Horton's coffee. Great taste, wonderful aroma and not as expensive as Starbucks.
It is also great as it helps relieve constipation :1orglaugh
Any other Canadians addicted to Tim Horton's coffee ?
What's your favorite coffee ?

StuartD 10-05-2007 12:22 PM

Canadians get so addicted to that stuff that there's been a rumour (proven false already) that their coffee has traces of cocaine in it.... no one can explain why they need to have it every day.

Brad 10-05-2007 12:26 PM

Too bad it's now owned by Wendys so it's no longer really "Canadian". But yes I love my Tim Hortons!!!!

Casa Nova 10-05-2007 12:27 PM

It's ridiculous here!! I don't drink coffee & I can't understand everyones addiction to it! I know alot of people who go there 5 times a day to get coffee and a sandwich, there are literally more tim hortons then there are gas stations!! They are at practically every intersection, and are built into gas stations!

I'm getting sick of seeing them lol

Fat Panda 10-05-2007 12:30 PM

Tim Hortons is good but i dont see the big deal,

People go their daily like it is religion, most of the time multiple times a day. I know people that HAVE to go there in the morning no matter how late they are for work or anything, their coffee comes first.

people are fucked up i think alot of shit has to do with routine that causes addiction.

Yup, I am always hearing people say "I just can't get through my day without my Timmies"

Then they say that they aren't addicted to anything.... they just need their coffee every day to function. Yeah, that doesn't sound like an addiction at all.

JayDeeZee 10-05-2007 12:56 PM

I love it, but I don't need it daily.

Only when I'm hung over do I need it

Fuck, I need one now!

I know they are in Jamaica . pissed me off that i did not have something to wait to go home and have.

fuzebox 10-05-2007 02:10 PM

Tim Hortons is truck stop coffee. Saying it's your favorite proves you don't care about coffee. :2 cents:

Dude. I am Canadian and have probably had more Tim Horton's than you!!! Not sure if that is a good thing or not but it couldn't be avoided since I lived across the street from a Tim Horton's in Hamilton when I was in University.

That is some interesting info there. I had heard they were owned by Wendy's. But they did merge and Wendy's is American, so... And by the way it was back in 95 that the merger happened not last year, the spin off and share sale happened in 2006, but the merger occurred in 95 according to wikipedia.

Either way, I still have Tim Horton's coffee pretty much daily!

Even though they own 62% of the market here?

Not everyone is into the "premium" coffee, it's just different tastes. And by the looks of it more people like Tim's than not.

WebairGerard 10-05-2007 02:49 PM

I was reading that they are going to be expanding in US market. Hope to get one in NY :)

d-null 10-05-2007 03:19 PM

It's not that good. Most of the people that love Tim Horton's coffee weren't really into coffee in the first place, or used to drink truck stop or instant.

Starbucks is 10 times better than Tim Hortons, and many of the smaller coffee places like Blenz are better still.

Tim Horton's coffee is all about the donuts you get at the same time I think.:2 cents:

Yes, even though.

Exactly, hence the "truck stop" comment. It's the blue collar working man's coffee, cheap, easy to find everywhere, and probably better than the freeze dried tasters choice your wife made you this morning.

P.S. I'm from Canada :winkwink:

that's what i said.
now that the spin off took place they are back to being a Canadian company.
i never said it took place in any specific year. if you read it again, what i said was----------> So it is Canadian after all. Back to it's origins :321GFY

In March 2006, Tim Hortons completed an initial public offering of the company and was fully spun off as a separate company as of September 29, 2006. Tim Hortons trades on the NYSE and TSX (THI).

wateva 10-06-2007 12:50 PM

Sounds pretty much like Star Bucks here in the States. I don't get it either, people act like it's crack.

WarChild 10-07-2007 06:30 PM

Yeah I guess Tim Horton's okay for people like StuartD who've never been out of North America.

When you travel the World and experience real coffee, you quickly learn that it's just garbage.

F-U-Jimmy 10-07-2007 06:50 PM

I guess it depends what you like and what's available in the area you live or work. When i was in Windsor Ontario a few years back all i could get was Tim Hortons. It was stale, old tasting luke warm liquid that tried to pass as coffee but failed miserably. In the UK its even worse they use a huge amount of instant coffee, " Gold Blend" used to be one of the most popular when i lived there.
Say what you like about StarBucks but they did get the formula right but spoilt the market for real coffee, i mean what the fuck is a Venti Mocha why not say large ? Anyway they did a great job at spreading a cheap bitter substandard coffee all over America and convincing people it was great. If you ever get the chance to try one of the independent speciality coffee houses like my local Cafe Joie in Mission Beach you will taste what a good coffee should taste like. Not every one will like the fresh roasted, fresh brewed flavor of gourmet coffee but you can at least give it a try. But dont for one moment think Star bucks or Tim Hortons is what coffee should taste like, its not..

tony286 10-07-2007 06:51 PM

i hope one comes to atl

I'd like to try it, but the above makes me wonder if it will give me the shits. :Oh crap
:1orglaugh

I'm big on coffees with chickory, like c"afe du monde" and "french market", my boyfriend is all about "Eight o'clock coffee", which is ok but it's weak- you have to use a ton to get a decent pot. I tried to get him to switch but he's set in his ways. :(
