i was doing some research and suavemente is the upstream provider/data center splitinfinity was in, or at least they owned the IP range splitinfinity was hosting on. I'm thinking SplitInfinity decided to close down and just hand over all active accounts to Suavamente since nothing major would have to be done since they own everything SplitInfinity was using. (don't take my word on this, I'm just typing what I'm thinking after doing some research)

Violetta 10-16-2007 06:04 AM

I'm pretty sure Suavamente was their parent company.

does anyone know if that data center is a neutral/public data center or is it privately owned by Suavamente? Because I know Server Provider is in the same center and it's ip's also from suavamente.

Same company if I'm not mistaken. I won some free hosting and all of the contracts I was sent had the Suavamente name all over them.

dissipate 10-16-2007 08:40 AM

It's the same company.

candyflip 10-16-2007 08:44 AM

wrong thread.

gentoo 10-16-2007 09:11 AM

Wow good to see GFY is up to its normal rumors. Splitinfinity is Suavemente. Suavemente is still owned by CHRIS J, no services or prices has changed it is just a simple name change.

Suavemente owns two data centers, and is located in a few others.

gentoo 10-16-2007 09:28 AM

pornguy 10-16-2007 09:31 AM

Its the same company.

mpahlca 10-16-2007 09:44 AM

It sure doesn't look like its owned by anyone named Chris http://www.rwhois.info/suavemente.net

Suavemente is the parent company of split. It always has been. I got a call from them a few weeks ago regarding the change/non change :1orglaugh

SplitInfinity 10-16-2007 11:39 AM

Good morning all!

My legal name is Norman Joseph Jester III.
Everyone calls me "Chris" because I changed my
name from Norman to Chris when I was like 9 years old
because I lived with my Father and Grandfather of the same
name and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Anyhow, regarding this thread....

First of all, I am happy to inform everyone that SplitInfinity is not
closing down or going buh-bye.... instead, we are simply re-structuring
the way things work in our company internally for the better.

Our parent company is Suavemente, INC. we also own Suavemente S.A. de C.V. in Mexico where we provide microwave services all the way down
to Ensenada.

Its basically like this: Having two names doesnt benefit us much.
We will still keep the domain and recognition we have always had
but we will gradually fade into using Suavemente, INC. instead
to further unify our corporations and avoid confusion.

We have built a new datacenter as well, its very nice. The building we
are in has alot of history behind it as well being that it use to be run by
Steve Cohen many moons ago.

Here are the photos of the in-progress construction. Keep in mind this
is a live facility and it is ugly and incomplete but very stable and its hosting
some of our stuff internally, but generally not colo customers yet.

So if you wanna hate on the photos, do it in your head because I already
pre-warned you that its not complete, its a large project in progress.
