And there is absolutely nothing you can do but get the hell out. I couldn't imagine loading my car up and leaving everything else behind to maybe burn.

pr0 10-21-2007 08:40 PM

I have this theory....real "californians" like the cali people who's family came over on horse & buggy to make a better life.

I think their descendants a genetically "already" made to be fucking insane in the first place. Or have really really giant balls.

So on that note, i think anyone of those people are not frightened by mad forest fires, mud slides or earthquakes.

Or even living in cities that are now "half" Tijuana, half war time Liberia & half normal American city. That def takes a different personality.

Rock on you bad ass Californians :thumbsup

Every time i see one of these things, it makes me want to move out there more & more. Plus the medical marijuana card & attitude towards porn production is a def +.

And honestly most of the people I've met from Cali have the same laid back "fuck it", don't harm anyone & its everythingz cool kinda attitude.

halfpint 10-21-2007 08:41 PM

You guys really know how to have a barbie out there in the US dont ya

Wish you all the best and hope they get the fires under control for you guys

You also forgot to mention that we are imminently supposed to drop into the pacific ocean at some point...

California is teh shitz...

pr0 10-21-2007 08:43 PM

btw anyone who can afford to live in Malibu, or 15-20 miles around it....isn't worried about their home being burned down, their just worried about the inconvenience of staying at their "vacation home (which is bigger than any of our normal homes) for 12 months while their new Mansion is built

HAPPYPEEKERS 10-21-2007 08:44 PM

Be safe J$tyles and family

Cory W 10-21-2007 08:48 PM

Our entire area is filled with smoke, I just packed up some items outside but I had to have my shirt tied around my face. We lost power for a few seconds. Traffic is backed up.

They are voluntarily evacuating some neighborhoods. I am ready to go. It looks like it is snowing outside right now, all the ash falling.

This is going to be a very long night. We are essentially having a category 1 hurricane and fires. Add on that the fires are now creating their own weather systems.

It's wicked. Like nothing I have ever seen.

Spunky 10-21-2007 08:52 PM

Terrible..hope they get that contained soon..I'll never understand when a fire gets out of control like that, they don't send in the water bombers to extinguish it immediately instead of letting it burn

This is like a hurricane of smoke. Dogs refuse to walk, the little one cries and they both have asthma attacks.

We have some power lost, the gates to our complex have been manually opened.

Everyone that walks outside has a wet towel wrapped around their faces, including me. My eyes are burning.

You getting the smoke side of this?

seeric 10-21-2007 09:18 PM

yup. my throat burns from the air quality from the castaic fire. california is a purgatory with all this low humidity and dry conditions, add that wind and a spark and you got an inferno.

Matt 26z 10-21-2007 09:19 PM

This is what happens when environmental protection extremists do not allow controlled burns. When nature starts the burns, they are massive and people die.

We're exactly down wind of the fire. When I went outside at 6:30 it was pitch black, then I drove a mile and it was complete daylight....a little hard to breath.

CheneyRumsfeld 10-22-2007 10:05 AM

California has plenty of looneytunes.

headless ghost 10-22-2007 10:10 AM

Sandee_Westgate 10-22-2007 10:28 AM

Yea I live in Orange county and it's bad outside. :(

alby_persignup 10-22-2007 10:35 AM

TheAmericanCannibal 10-22-2007 10:58 AM

These winds just blew a big piece of palm bark into my window
I thought my place was going to implode.

This is really bad here in Chatsworth the winds are fierce.:(

'So Fucking Money 10-22-2007 11:04 AM

The winds dont seem to be as bad as yesterday so far. Sky is a little smoky though. Hope things get under control soon. I'm not in the line of fire but plenty of friends are. Really sucks. I'm about 15 min from irvine and 25 to corona.

Elli 10-22-2007 11:12 AM

Yikes! Stay safe all you SoCal folks!

Meeper 10-22-2007 11:18 AM

Yea this kind of fire happens every year, although this one is one of the worst I have seen. Last year was pretty bad, but it wasn't as far spread as this one. Just had to evacuate my horses yesterday. Ughh. Hope everyone stays safe! :helpme

Fap 10-22-2007 11:20 AM

I cant believe someone started all this

pornguy 10-22-2007 11:56 AM

The winds Late tonight and tomorrow are expected to actually get stronger. Up to 100mph.

O MARINA 10-22-2007 12:00 PM

terrible :(

Peaches 10-22-2007 12:00 PM

Dumb question - why don't people leave even if it's not mandatory? Are the roads clogged? Are you afraid you'll get stuck and the fire will get you any way?

My neighbors live in Naples and when they have a hurricane coming their way, they hop a plane and wait it out up here.

People like to believe that it will miss them, and that they are safe in their house. It sounds easy to leave your house and everything you own behind but when you get faced with that decision, its not as easy as it seems, although obviously your life > your possessions, some people have a hard time coping with that fact.

Wow. Well, HappyPeekers can relate to that - they lost EVERYTHING in a fire while they were gone from the house. You CAN recover. Folks, your life is a lot more important than the picture of granny Jones. Or even your Big Woody award from the Pimp and Ho balls :thumbsup
