I do however slow way down when reading for pleasure.

I've never had a speed reading course, but am a naturally fast reader. On this, I just read flat out, and didn't worry about slowing down for retention. I couldn't tell you much of what it said, outside of that it was about the lady who invented speed reading, and the technique originated when she swept her hand across a page.

Sort of an issue for me. When I buy a novel I feel cheated so alas I have to limit myself to a max of 4 chapters a night. Otherwise I would read most average sized books in one sitting and then feel cheated for spending 25.00
