Dell Inspiron laptop, anyone know how to..

Anyone know how to adjust luminosity while in battery mode? Damn thing tones down while in battery mode and if it's too light (like outside) I can't see shit...

Thanks in advance. :)

wow i was wondering this for so long.. does it drain batteries THAT much quicker with it up all the way?

GrouchyAdmin 10-28-2007 05:54 PM

It's a BIOS setting, as mentioned - unless you run the Dell software under Windows, which lets you also arbitrarily set it.

The blue colored symbols/words on the keys are activated when you press with the fn-key.

Most likely halves the battery time. Still, I rarely use it on batteries and even when I do it's for very short periods, so it annoys the fuck out of me when I can't work properly for that short period of time.

I love it. I have XP on it, with 2GB RAM. Make sure you call them and ask for a 7200RPM HDD, they normally come with 5400RPM SATA ones.

I've had mine for several months now, it rocks, dell inspiron 1501, got's lots of cool features, I get the big battery for it, but rarely use it
