Does anyone use something else than Dreamweaver nowadays to create websites?

i can hardly imagine that there have been other programs out there, using it since version 3 now.

and to all the "notepad" guys: you can do the same in dreamweaver as well, just more comfortable :winkwink:

NVU is a nice open source alternative. Definitely not up to speed with what DWMX can do these days with the various server technologies (php, cold fusion, etc.)...but it does the trick for editing and page setup.

Notepad2 and SmartFTP for me (PHP)

mikael_AEBN 10-29-2007 02:13 PM

depends.....

if it's easy static i stick with notepad, if it's php or something equal i'll use dreamweaver or CFStudio, for the most part though, I stick with Aptana IDE (google it).

Aptana is free and you can use it to code in all kinds of shit.

I started with notepad as well, then used notepad++ for a while, now I'm using Dreamweaver. Tried other software but Dreamweaver is just way better.

dozey 10-30-2007 07:57 AM

MS Expression Web, still not quite so intuitive as Dreamweaver, but it is much cleaner to work with.

Violetta 10-30-2007 09:23 AM

dreamweaver lives up to their name... it is a fucking DREAM!!!!!!!!

Meeper 10-30-2007 09:32 AM
