So I am checking my account balance -$22,468.49

And now I know why people say, "You should get a business and personal account at two different banks."

The bitch teller did a $25,000 cashiers check out of my business account for something and then also deducted the money from my personal account right after that.

Fucking great... My birthday tomorrow and my account is -$22,468.49....

I love Wells Fargo...

* Should I make a thread here are GFY titled?:

Yes, yes you should.

BoA all the way.

TidalWave 10-31-2007 03:18 PM

so it was fraud or what?

sicone 10-31-2007 03:20 PM

ouch... sucks ass

baddog 10-31-2007 03:21 PM

I have multiple biz and personal accounts and have had BofA do the same thing . . . pull from personal A instead of personal B, etc. Not that badly though.

Humans suck with their ability to make mistakes.

L-Pink 10-31-2007 03:21 PM

That's pretty hard to do ......

No.. It was a bank teller with little to no brain...

I also didn't ask for a balance on the accounts... I totally had this weird feeling that I should ask for one but didn't do it. And now I know why...

GAMEFINEST 10-31-2007 03:23 PM

wells fargo sucks ass ..simple

quiet 10-31-2007 03:24 PM

that sort of thing has happened to me numerous times over the years. usually the it would be a wire i was sending out, they would either take it from two accounts, or from the wrong account.

V_RocKs 10-31-2007 03:25 PM

And the fun begins...

10/31/07 OVERDRAFT FEE $28.00
10/31/07 OVERDRAFT FEE $28.00
10/31/07 NSF RETURN ITEM FEE $28.00

That was a given. You still have a couple hours to make a personal visit to the bank.

V_RocKs 10-31-2007 03:29 PM

Already called... They have started an investigation... It should be done some time... next week.... or so...

papill0n 10-31-2007 03:48 PM

Klen 10-31-2007 03:53 PM

Damn i cant belive how stupid is American banking system. Here bussiness and personal accounts are stricly separated. For example,i have special internet banking access for bussiness account and special access for personal. On personal side i can manage with ordinary account and with account for foreign currency meanwhile bussiness access have only ordinary account.

Doctor Dre 10-31-2007 03:54 PM

Warren Buffet is happy with the NSF fees right now

You are too nice, or too far from your local branch. I would be there in person getting it resolved.

bDok 10-31-2007 03:58 PM

yea no kidding I would be back in that branch office so quick. I'm on a name to name basis with the guy at my branch that handles the business accounts. Heck some times I'm just putting checks in and rather than do it through the atm I just pop in and get face time. No way I would have a call center handle that shit.

katushka 10-31-2007 04:02 PM

It's happened to me too...got it straightened out easily thought. Threats seem to take you far in life. Whodathunkit?!?!

digifan 10-31-2007 04:05 PM

Sounds like a nightmare to me :( I hope it will be sorted out quickly.

warlock5 10-31-2007 05:08 PM

Not only should your business & personal accounts be at different banks, each LLC/Corp/etc should be at a different bank, credit cards with different companies too. Its the same as not registering your domain names with your web host, it diversifies points of failure and ensures an avoidance of conflicts of interest.

Persius 10-31-2007 05:09 PM

i'd cause havok in my local branch! a call? wtf

jonesonyou 10-31-2007 05:09 PM

Fucking wells fargo

BluMedia 10-31-2007 05:10 PM

They are insured and sure cover their screwup. I've never had any issues with them.

Mark

V_RocKs 10-31-2007 05:16 PM

I had something similar happen before...

I deposited $800 in cash. It never made it into my account. I went to the branch and they started an investigation and sent me home since that is all the branch can do.

So this time I didn't waste time going into the bank to have them tell me I would have to just go back home.

yys 10-31-2007 05:20 PM

You should be in the branch in person threatening to transfer all your business to another bank if they don't rectify their mistake to your satisfaction. :2 cents:

DaddyHalbucks 10-31-2007 05:45 PM

I am sure they will make it right.

After Shock Media 10-31-2007 05:56 PM

They will naturally fix the mistake and cover all your nsf overdraft fee's. Though the damn no money while they look into it sucks ass and can not be fixed. Hope you have some credit cards to hold you over for your birthday.

I personally use a local bank, I love them, they love me. All first name basis with most managers and tellers. Can get things fixed within moments typically. Hell they send me notices all the time for when I screw up my math and do not write down the proper amount on the deposit form. I often forget to add a check or something and they have it credited and fixed that day. When I did have an ACH issue go crazy and pull out a huge some leaving me also in overdraft mode. They gave me a line of credit while they investigated and hunted down the issue. When it was discovered it was not my fault or doing, they allowed me to pay off my line of credit and they ate the interest.

Sosa 10-31-2007 06:21 PM

fuck that sucks

JD 10-31-2007 06:39 PM

I guess I can threatened to take my negative balance elsewhere!

sltr 10-31-2007 07:37 PM

she probably deduced you were a pornographer and was out to get you.

ztik 10-31-2007 07:39 PM

Go in and talk to a banker about, bet it'll be fixed within the hour. Wellsfargo is pretty good about shit like that.

or just bust in with a shotgun and start picking people off until they fix it. Both are viable solutions imo.. :2 cents:

sltr 10-31-2007 07:45 PM

i own a remington 870 and that was not an option on my list of solutions, mostly.

qxm 10-31-2007 07:47 PM

Must have been a dumb ass teller .....or a new teller.....anyhow, I too have been victim of Wells Fargo's Wild wild west thievery (CCrds int rates, dumb tellers and such).........I sometimes wonder when I see their commercials.: "what the hell are those carriages running away from?", they clearly didn't shoot the part where the mounted police where right behind their asses ........

quantum-x 10-31-2007 07:48 PM

Happened to me as well, and I ws lucky enough to cop attitude from the teller for it.

Project Manager 10-31-2007 08:35 PM

So, why are you worried? Banks are banks. Everyone makes mistakes. In the end it will cost you nothing.

Not exactly... My time is worth $125 an hour or so. That means I am losing money when I have to fix the overdrafts with the people who got NSF on my checks, debits and billpays from now until it is fixed.

jay23 10-31-2007 11:33 PM

I have the same issue with Wells Fargo. They have this nifty function where you can connect both your biz and personal checking account so one online log or one ATM card works on both....but guss what happens when they got 7$/hr tellers.

Jay

96ukssob 10-31-2007 11:44 PM

damn that sucks, sorry to hear that.

I have multiple accounts with BofA and never really any big problems with them besides them randomly cancelling my debit card or freezing it when im doing big charges

I was going to say BofA did that to me a while ago... they are all the same.

V_RocKs 11-01-2007 01:23 AM

THIS IS WHY I LOVE EPASSPORTE!

I can still get plenty of money off of that!

JimmiDean 11-01-2007 05:04 AM

Get it cleaned up ASAP and get all of your fee's back.
Happened top me once with 14K and the fee's plus interest added up to over 300 bucks.
The bank refunded all after a quick chat with the manager.
