Some spots can be bought... and some people go broke in bandwidth bills after getting a handful of free listings on the hun... so no, it's not nothing.

It's sad.... but it's true. Hit some of the smaller/newbler boards and you'll find people get themselves in too deep due to bandwidth bills from hun listings.

I know that, but you have your overhead regardless of where you get listed. I find thehun does bring lots of traffic (and bandwidth) but doesn't convert very well since there is so much free stuff to be had on the site itself. It is nice to bring traffic to your own sites, if you use banners for those on your galleries, that way you convert much better, I have found.

The hun isn't what it used to be, hands down.

If a sponsor could guarantee your ROI, why wouldn't they buy the spots themselves?

Yeah it'll increase your bandwidth, but the question was if there is a sponsor that will guarantee ROI on a hun listing. I don't think hun listings give any less ROI then any other list. It's just the large amount of traffic that will hit your galleries. If you use the right sponsors on your galleries you do ok (I've found) with the hun. Just don't go hogwild with banners to affiliate programs, but instead use banners in the top position to your own pay sites/directories. Unless you depend on sponsor provided content, in which case you have no choice but to link to the sponsor only. Buy content, use the top spot on your gallery for your own pay site and ad a sponsor banner at the bottom or middle of the page. Not saying it will work for everyone but it does for me.
