So it finally happened...We switched our default currency to Euros.
As of today we are using the Euro as our default currency. Surfers from the USA are still being billed in USD....UK and Canadian surfers are being billed in their native currencies, and EU residents and -everyone else- is getting billed in Euro. Pricing has been adjusted in the various currencies to put the price point where it ought to be. For example we are now getting signups at GBP 10.99 which is the psychological equivalent of that 19.99 USD price point, but actually exchanges to $22.91.
The two big advantages to this is that we are able to offer some protection against the slide in the USA dollar and that our affiliates can be paid out in Euros or GBP if they wish. Happy Hunting! |
What sucks is some programs (TopSpots for one) now bill exclusively in Euros... argh! Hope you don't go that route... it's the biggest reason why I don't buy adspots there anymore, why should I pay more when all I want is a flat $100.

Sensible move Shoplifter :thumbsup
Hell.. we just charge the UK at 24.95 GBP - that's less than five packs of cigarettes equivalent. Base price used to be $24.95 - but that's currently $29.95 and sure going up - don't care about losing US sales, - the rest more than compensates on the bottom line. |
Now that you have done that. Providing localized sites shouldn't be to far off in the distance for you. Hit me up, if your looking to go down that route. I'm one of the owners of Globally translated:thumbsup
