How to rip and encode 2000 DVDs fast?
I feel that our current setup is not doing the job for us anymore.
Task: 2000 DVDs Time: 1 month Formats: 2 x Flash, 1 x WMV Any ideas? We use sorenson right now. |
We have your solution :) Not in one month but maybe 2.

try winavi video converter

Hey hey that was my 200th post, co-incidence?
|
Hey Brad. We had contact before. Decided to do the encoding locally as long as we can keep up with the DVDs comming in. I will get back to you guys if we run out of resources here.
Any tipps on what to use? You use Macs, right? |
We use a cluster of 20 macs tied together using apple compressor which allows for FLV and WMV codecs.
I am also available for consulting if you wish to build your own cluster. I already made all the mistakes and have a very automated workflow. |
I was getting an offer for Episode Engine with Flash 8, but their pricing is pretty heavy.
|
Episode engine is great but it's WAAAY overpriced for a cluster at over $1k per seat.
Compressor has a controller and all of it's nodes are covered under the controller license. I buy the codec directly from Adobe for FLV. |
very funny that most ignorants focus on the program and not in the hardware..
if you want to rip and encode fast 2000 dvds, you need to focus on a very powerful machine.. not one, but several powerful configurations... the software is secondary.. |
