Mr.skin.com mentionned in the movie "Knocked Up"

This might be old news; but I saw this (very boring) movie "knocked up" last weekend and was suprized to see the caracters mentionning the Mr.Skin site in one of the scenes.

A bunch of guys are trying to start a nude celebrity site and discover mr.skin.com; they go all ape shit because they thought they had the original idea.

Did they ask Mr. skin owners for that? Anyhow, lets hope its a good promo for the site; they even show the homepage and logo. :thumbsup

I thought the movie wasnt funny at all but meh :2 cents:

dont have a time line, but here's a page where you can read an interview with the Seth rogen who made the knocked up movie where he actually mentions mr.skin in the context of the movie.

I thought it was a kick-ass flick, myself :)

And yes, it was coordinated with Mr. Skin; you can even find a mention on their homepage - http://ads.mrskin.com/ads/knocked-up-snipe-noclick.png

Dont know about you, but I dont scan each and every threads of this board 24hrs a day and 7 days a week. I did a search on the title of the movie and the url of the site before I posted my thread and nothing came up so I wanted to know.

You'd be surprised at the number of people that probably do.. and many of them apparently think that everyone else does too...

Do you watch the news, listen to the radio, or read the newspaper? Because it's been in all of those as well.

leftsans 11-14-2007 02:26 PM

i saw the mr skin owner/boss on 2 different cable news shows promoting the film and his website, that was a pretty popular movie i wonder what it did for business

I dont watch tv or listen to the radio. I rent movies :thumbsup What's with people that seem to think that if you dont hear about something right away you've been living under a rock? Geeze, its not the crash of the WTC we're talking about here, give me a break :1orglaugh and as I said in my very first post of this thread : IT MIGHT BE OLD NEWS. lol

I guess I just assume that, as with any other business, people in this one (at least those who want to be successful) stay current with trends, news, etc that affect our business.

You should subscribe to XBiz. It's pretty much the Wall Street Journal of the Adult business.

Thanks for the info, but I stay current with trends that has to do with the business I work with. Not everything that has to do with the adult.

And yeah, we are suscribed to xbiz. Also to Klixxx, avn, and various more other zines... Im happy to say we're a pretty succesful company; other ppl can testify of that. Only thing is that I rarely see our crew sitting on their asses and reading these except when we have appeared in it :winkwink:

That's all very nice, but you are not a real star until you've been on Comedy Central's Beat the Geeks.... :anon

tony286 11-14-2007 04:57 PM

That was very cool for them. I agree the movie was nothing to write home about.

D 11-14-2007 06:12 PM

Very Boring?

I admit, it wasn't action-packed, but I thought the film was a riot.

KrisKross 11-14-2007 06:16 PM

Why would they have to ask Mr Skin for permission?

donkevlar 11-14-2007 06:18 PM

Knocked Up is a great movie... you just don't understand because you're french ;)

They don't have to, per se... but there are two consquences if you don't.

If you show the party in a bad light, they can sue you for liable.

If you show it in a great light, you can ask for a product placement fee or at the very least try to get some considerations or help.

madfuck 11-14-2007 06:24 PM

ya pretty old now huh, lol

frostyimpressions 11-14-2007 06:35 PM

Knocked Up was hilarious. You are a very tough audience.
