Need Dedicated Hosting...

Looking to spend $100 a mo flat on the box, until it is in use.
Basically it is just for development now, and uses little to now bandwidth.

Specs:
Unmanaged
quad core proccessor
4gb of ram
10 ip's
fbsd 6.2

If you can do the deal, you can do the deal. Like i said, the server will just sit there and host business sites, Maybe use 1000gb in total transfer a month? And thats just ftp and stuff.

Leave your contact details, and i'll pay by visa today if you can have it setup asap. Thank you.

(Not trying to be cheap, but, im not useing the server, only to host development domains and sites, so $100 x 12 months is $1200, and hardware is dirt cheap, so why pay $300 - $500 for the box when i dont need that much now?)

TidalWave 11-16-2007 01:33 PM

because a machine of that spec will cost at least $1200 to begin with, so a host is to act like a charity for you? not to mention where is the guarantee you will stay for 12months, and even if you do you'd have to stay for at least 24 months or whats the point?

and what about their power, cooling, rackspace and tons of other costs?

Please contact me on ICQ so that we can work out a development period where the rate would be discounted to $100.

We need to iron out the storage requirements and how much bandwidth would be required after the development period.

What you said is all true. Any host that takes this deal is basically on ther road to bankruptcy. The noob hosts and over committed hosts are the ones that will go for it because they simply are trying to cut their losses a bit before the bankruptcy day arrives. The established hosts won't even relpy to a thread like this as it is useless.:2 cents::2 cents:

Contact Caz (304883574) or Amy (368164844) from OC3 Networks.
Contact Sly (147479144) from Phatservers.

Not sure about that .. They could well sucker the guy in, then later on find a reason to increase the fees...otherwise the guy has to leave .. for a higher host anyway .. so why leave ...

this is a scheme practiced with the virtual accounts by some hosts :2 cents:

Ok, this thread made me roffle. If you can get that box for $100/mo let me know, i'll take atleast 10 of them.

TidalWave 11-17-2007 03:41 AM

you could get it for $194 per month though which is still a damn good deal.

Intel Core2Quad Q6600
[4 x 2.4Ghz, 8MB L2 Cache]
4GB DDR2-667 RAM
250GB SATA-2 16MB Cache HDD
1U Supermicro Rackmount Server
2000GB Bandwidth
100Mbps Network Port (1000Mbps Available)

$194 per month, $0 setup fees

why do i think you will be out of the biz in 6-12 months ?

TidalWave 11-17-2007 04:03 AM

because youre wrong? lol

amortization on that box is 5 months for me, perfectly do-able

how do you think:

softlayer
theplanet
netdepot
serverbeach
caronet
sagonet

... they all do it? the major cost is hardware and we buy all our hardware with cash upfront. no financing, no recurring debts on the machines that means nothing to drag us down.

TidalWave 11-17-2007 04:08 AM

and this is not mentioning that one of the owners of pacificrack is actually the owner of another well established hosting company thats been in business since 2001 and has a grip of the adult marketshare, multiple datacenters of their own, etc.

TidalWave 11-17-2007 04:13 AM

we'll be fine, there are not many factors that could equal into our demise. the product we sell does not come at the risk of providing quality service. like i said we dont have any recurring debt on our hardware, so all we need to worry about is the electricity cost of that machine once its running, and the clients monthly payment most definitely covers that.

our datacenter space and technical staff cost is already covered from our colocation client base.
