Idiocracy the movie

I had a chance to see that movie yesterday - I guess it's kind of underrated and one of the most amusing flicks I have seen in a long time..

Well it's no Monty Python's kind of super well thought and super crazy humour and you could definitely get more out of the original concept and idea..

Probably they also didn't wanted their audience to recognize themselves too much..

But still - there is so much truth in there! :pimp

Voodoo 11-16-2007 01:41 PM

huh huh huh.... Buttfuckers.

MaDalton 11-16-2007 01:42 PM

mildly amusing - i saw better

like Dr. Strangelove for example

Diligent 11-16-2007 01:44 PM

I'm agreeing totally here!

It was more than I expected and can't help but think... actually good for a large portion of people they didn't see it hehe.. ;)

Not bad, but I've seen better.

"Ouch my balls!"

Most realistic Social Documentation I've seen this year!

crockett 11-16-2007 01:52 PM

I watched it last night, the storyline was pretty good but the actors were totally wrong for that movie. The lead guy was all wrong and he didn't fit the part at all IMO.

Yes but if you want to target vast audience..

Just nominated you.. :pimp

jalami 11-16-2007 01:55 PM

Funny, and probably the most realistic vision of the future ever captured on film.

crockett 11-16-2007 01:56 PM

btw I hate to say it because I don't really like him.. but I kept thinking Owen Wilson would have been the perfect lead actor and Jack Black should have been the laywer.

He he, yes it's hard to play character roles with a face like this

Still LOTS of fun which is very rare with a 2006 movie (practical idiocracy on the rise... )

fuhkinglou 11-16-2007 01:59 PM

The scariest part of it is this will not happen in 500 years, a lot of it is closer to 50 or even 5.

It isn't a popular or well known movie because Fox didn't like how they were portrayed, so they only fulfilled the minimum distribution requirements in their contract.

Yes it kicked many balls in a way although it was no 21st century "Animal Farm"

Here is an interesting (and short) article about the movie..

that would have made more sense, yeah. i like luke wilson, but he did not fit in here

CarlosTheGaucho 11-16-2007 02:20 PM

My most favourite moment is still that Orangutang showcasing the medical progress in research of the hair implants and pills against impotence..

IllTestYourGirls 11-16-2007 02:23 PM

they have been showing it on HBO, I passed out while watching it but from what I saw it was pretty funny but then again it was 3am.

pornguy 11-16-2007 02:25 PM

Saw that a few weeks ago. Could have been better.

gornyhuy 11-16-2007 03:06 PM

Yeah, I really liked it, but they could have done a lot better than luke wilson for that role.

germ 11-16-2007 03:06 PM

The hospital name made me crack up.

Fizzgig 11-16-2007 04:43 PM

That's a hilarious movie. I loved it.

xNetworx 11-16-2007 05:23 PM

I've watched over 5 times. I think it gets better everytime. "Holy Shit! Its Beef Supreme!"

dig420 11-16-2007 05:49 PM

hugely underrated imho, I LOVED it.

lots of 'tards livin' kick ass lives

Viper2K1 11-16-2007 06:57 PM

I liked it, near the end I got pretty bored with it but the first 45 minutes were pretty good.

Certainly the beginning was funny, never thought about things that way
It's funny, because it's true :)

MrVids 11-16-2007 07:02 PM

oh man, i LOVED this movie. I've seen it probably 15 times or so (here and there on HBO, not like I'm addicted.... I can quit whenever I want). Always good for a chuckle.

I know a lot of people who should watch that movie as a wake up call as they race over to Carls Jr. for their BIG ASS FRIES.

teg0 11-16-2007 07:06 PM

i loved it, the little lady hated it.

bronco67 11-16-2007 08:03 PM

Liked what they were trying get across, but a BIG missed opportunity. Also, Dax Sheppard is in it. Do you need say more than that?

I think that new Richard kelly(Donnie Darko director) movie Southland Tales is taking a crack at the same subject matter.

xmas13 11-16-2007 08:43 PM
