ufc 79 is closing in. your picks?

rashad evans > michael bisping

i just fuck i hate bisping, this prediction could be more of a prediction of hope than anything. i'd love to see him go down hard, and i think rashad can do it...

houston alexander > thiago silva

alexander is on a roll, he's been impressive so far, i thik his momentum will carry him through against silva

karo parysian > ryo chonan
thaigo alves > chris lytle
ed herman > joe doerksen
frank edgar > spencer fisher

not a real exciting fightcard looking it over, but you never know until the the closing of the final fight. here's hoping its an intense one.

I'm a bit disappointed because I admire Alexander and was hoping he had more on the ground than he showed, but he really got away from what got him so hyped in the first place. He should have came out like the animal he was in his first two UFC fights and let the chips fall where they may. He was way too calm and measured for a guy that should have been swinging for the fences.

I do find it funny, in reading some of the MMA forums, how everyone is pulling the "I told you so" bullshit after the fact. You seem to have taken the same stance as I did, that I don't really know and I'll reserve judgment on his ground game until I see. Every fake expert on the MMA forums that never stated a position before the fact are now puffing their chests out and yelling "Oh shit, I knew he would be exposed!!!" Unbelievable...

i was really hoping for more out of him on the ground, but i'm still not gonna write the guy off. he's young, he's got time to grow. i think he needed an eye opener, and hopefully he takes to training for alot more groundwork in the future, which i'm sure he will. i think some of it was that he wanted to prove he could handle himself on the ground and he got away from the gameplan which works for him. maybe, just maybe, a chutebox trained blackbelt in bjj wasn't the best opponent to do this with though. hehe. either way, i don't think its the last we've seen of houston alexander.

oh, and am i DAMN HAPPY to have seen bisping lose. even tough it wasn't the spectaclar ko i was pulling for. actually i was ggetting a little worried rashad wasn't going to pull it off watching him go into that 3rd round looking winded as he did...
