Why is Internext vegas hosted in the hotel off the strip?

Why??? Thats just wrong!

After Shock Media 11-19-2007 11:24 PM

You are just asking this now?

Ok yes it is at the palms, most of the interesting floors and bars are pre booked for the show. Ya its off strip, oh no! Though it does allow for the possibility of newbies getting ran over crossing the street.

If you want my opinion this is far better. Trying to get around on the strip is a royal pain in the ass. It is going to be much easier to get to dinners and such

shermo 11-19-2007 11:54 PM

Off the strip in this case means about 4 blocks. It's hardly off the strip, so have no fear. Caesars is in walking distance if you are in shape, as is Bellagio.

Aren't a majority of adult webmasters too young to frequent places like Caesar's?

DaddyHalbucks 11-19-2007 11:58 PM

The Palms is the IT hotel right now.

After Shock Media 11-20-2007 12:00 AM

my only real issue will be having to pack up and move hotels once during the entire trip from the Venetian to the palms.

have you not been to vegas? palms is crawling on any weekend with tail. Same with hard rock and it isn't on the strip. The strip is a couple blocks away.

I have seen where one major dinner is going to be held and it is pretty damn impressive.

boneprone 11-20-2007 12:05 AM

This is going to be a nice change..

Will be great. The Palms is a perfect fit for Our biz. For years now Ive been asking why our show was not at the Palms..

Now its there. Trust me you will like it.

If you want the strip take a 7.00 cab over.

Shit..
No invites yet.. I love major dinners. I dont eat much but i love the company.

Ryan St. Germain 11-20-2007 12:07 AM

You can see the strip from the hotel. It's so close, it would almost be ridiculous to take a cab to get there.

Voodoo 11-20-2007 12:09 AM

The strip is for tourists.

They haven't gone out yet, but if history is any indicator, you will be there. You have been for the others.

As far as I know, the age for all casinos is 21. I'm not sure whether you mean Caesars being out of range due to demographic interests or what. I personally always liked Caesars even when I was younger because of the restaurants, The Forum and the rooms are awesome.

I always thought it was for old people . . . I never liked it or their tables. Was never lucky at them.

BluMedia 11-20-2007 12:56 AM

Moving it to the Palms might be one of the best decisions they have ever made. :2 cents:

I have my fingers crossed... think you might be right. I have to be honest - when I go it's for business. The last two or three Vegas shows I only went off-site maybe once per show. Maybe I'm boring, whatever, what I do know is I like a good venue and I like to see only industry people - I can give fuck all about everything else when I'm traveling for business. This is the reason I think the August Internext and Phoenix Forum are the years two most productive shows - they have the whole venue. The last couple of shows in Vegas (not including XBiz, I really liked that) were absolute cluster fucks where you couldn't find anyone, you couldn't get a damned dinner reservation, you couldn't help but be annoyed by the sea of non industry people.... and frankly, after seeing the joke of a show floor most felt quite ass-raped about what they paid for their show badge.

I'm excited to see what AVN does this January, I suspect they've learned quite a bit from the frank feedback they've received in recent past and definitely appreciate the innovation of the other conferences competing for attendees.

Or to fat to be called "in shape".

I don't get it. Most things on the strip are walking distance and there's a monorail. Cabs only take 10 minutes.

Jim_Gunn 11-20-2007 09:25 AM

It's a nice change, and a cool venue. I like that everyone will be in one place. I'll be on the strip all week for AVN Expo anyway, that will be enough for me.

I think the Palms is a great choice....nice change :thumbsup

Wizzo 11-20-2007 09:38 AM

Shows that are on the Strip just plain suck, people get too spread out... I skipped the last 2 vegas shows because of that, so looking forward to returning this year... :pimp

CyberAgeGary 11-20-2007 10:38 AM

Like people actually walk from casino to casino anyways on the strip? Palms is my favorite casino in Vegas and probably one of the most happening spots there as well... Great Choice.. If there were any doubts about Internext-Expo this just erased all of them...

HAPPYPEEKERS 11-20-2007 10:55 AM

I like the fact that everyone will be in the same hotel.

Mandalay is just too big, it is hard to find webmasters with all of the normals running around.

LexiLexxx 11-20-2007 11:05 AM

The Palm's is more of a spunky group of people, the music is loud and alot of action going on there, wait until you see the hotties that pile in at night.

I really think, this will be a cool change, and it's not like there isn't a ton of Taxi's to take you anywhere here in Vegas.

Exactly what I was getting ready to post. It took us almost 30 minutes to go from the Stratosphere to Bellagio one day. We walked from the Venetian to the Strat faster - should have walked to Bellagio :thumbsup

That is why I usually drive my own car. I know Vegas well enough to take the back streets and stay off the Strip until after 1 or 2 AM.

Hell, Flamingo N/B to the Strip can take 10 minutes easily from just Koval on a busy day.

i think i'm passing on Internext Vegas this year Last few Internext vegas shows were not very productive.

Phoenix and Florida are way better venues IMO

DigitalDruid 11-20-2007 04:59 PM
