Trials - optimal lenght and price
 

What do you think is the best lenght and price of a trial? What works best for you?


let me put few random thoughs to get this thread started
for example, $1 for 1 day seems to be good, but it rebills pretty fast, often before the surfer realizes what's going on, which results in more chargebacks

on other side, 3 days is sometimes too long, more than enough the whole site to be downloaded and reviewed offline later. Also for smaller (niched sites) even if the surfer doesnt download (or you have some kind of protection) may be enough to get a look at the most of the content and cancel

PS many buyers are so well trained even with no trials that they join the site, immediately go cancel, then come back and begin viewing the porn.

I'm personoally a big fan of a 3 day limited access...

You get the 2 latest updates or something along those lines.

We do well with 3 day trials. Yes they can download everything, but our kinda stuff keeps them waiting for the next update...We convert to monthly around 40% with www.cheatingxxxwife.com not to sure yet with www.kinkyhousewife.net as we have just started that one...:)

Me too. We have a 3 day limited where they only get the most recent scene and then a 7 where they get the 3 most recent. We still get more initials than trials anyway and our trials convert at around 60% so it's totally for the win.

second, a nice thread and i agree that 3 days can give way to much time to download what they want. Need to be limited in most cases to work.
i have tryed both 2-3 days with no limit and dident get the best result.
I`m about to change to limited in the coming weeks, so would be good to hear how much content that should be allowed for a trail ?

Any others... how much access do you give. only photos fx, first part of a set or any other combo`s ?

1 day trial for $1 and limit what they are allowed to see, make sure they have to upgrade to see the full length videos

only problem with limited trials is that most people aren't disclosing this on their join pages, which is really not helping any of us. ;(

Well when I stopped them I noticed no real drop in monthly income. sure the number of joins went down (no trials after all) however the additional number of full month sales more than compensated for the lost money in trials. From there it really just is a retention issue.

Yet sometimes you need to pay to play and for instance if you want some of the other affiliate programs to mail for you or whatever then well you better have 1.00 or free trials or they kindly tell you to fuck off as they must have there 35.00 to 75.00 for every 1.00 or free trial they can pawn off.

infact that was pretty much the case with me 2 years ago. I introduced trials only to find that im not doing better with them.

Few months ago i decided to try them again, and this time it works better
