MANY programs sold them traffic via exit popups... eg: EpicTrash, Platinumbucks, Mayor, PornoPushers, SpaCash, Python, Pornkings and more.

spysherriff and many othersa have been using this method for quite some time.

I have seen the spysherriff one myself its pretty scammy , but really i cant see anyone being stupid enough to buy something that way

it would be like finding your car spray painted with the phone number of a spraypaint removal service.

Azoy? 11-30-2007 07:15 PM

they bought exits from me, soon as i found out what the fuck they were doing we canned em.

seeric 11-30-2007 07:40 PM

by the way they had ads and industry support everywhere. most people shunned them once they actually knew what they were doing and it wasnt just an innocent little player to install.

I remember when that was a big issue here. It's pretty funny now thinking back about it and how vocal some of the sponsors were about their support.

they pretty much flat out lied to people about what it was and instead of trying it out, some of us went along with it because of who recommended them to me. i won't bring that persons name into it, but lets just say the second i found out what that shit was doing, it came down faster than it went up on the consoles.

looked harmless upfront until you went digging deep.

i got no mercy for em.

d-null 12-02-2007 12:30 AM

bastards

Sad the afteraffects of scammers like this; I was listening to a nationwide radio show today and the host mentioned this story and went through some tips to help listeners protect themselves from problems, one of his tips was "avoid signing up for any porn sites"

Hmmm.. that's interesting.

Back when I worked in telco, that same company used to put third partying billing on customers bills. They also billed for dialers. Normally the charges were from psychic line.

However, they would also get people's telephone numbers from those contests in stores that people fill out with no regard, and somewhere on the slip or TOS it said you would get billed for this shit.

Only way to get rid of it was block third party billing per request.

That company operated out of Vanuatu or some other British colony in the Carribean, or Carmens.

Nice to see they moved on to some new scam.

:disgust

You can't expect scammers to stop scamming, you can expect banks and other payment processors to stop them using their services.

[ScreaM] 12-02-2007 03:38 AM

Die scammers die.

You low-life scumbags.
