CJ is gone.

Took him to the vet,The vet agrees it was time. Since his cornea was gone the lens was poking out thru the eye and infection was back.I held him in my arms when he got the shot. He will always be with me in my heart and the tattoo on my arm.

CurrentlySober 12-03-2007 08:48 AM

Sorry to hear that dude... My little one, 'Puppy-Dawg' a boston, had to be put down due to a growth on her brain, behind the eye...
I feel for yah

CJ is a boston also.

candyflip 12-03-2007 08:53 AM

That's really a tough decision to make. I am thankful I was not in your place today.

You've got some great memories, he might be gone but you won't forget him.

CurrentlySober 12-03-2007 08:54 AM

Awwhhh... Makes it all the worse...
Just enjoy the memories... Im glad I knew Puppy Dawg for nearly three years, despite how it ended...

Loryn 12-03-2007 08:57 AM

OMG you poor thing, I feel for you I really do. My kitty is 9 years old and I can see age is creeping up on him and I know I am going to lose it when I have to do what you did today. At least you gave CJ the best life and he was happy while he was here. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about it. :(

I wish there was something I could say to make it all better. Bye CJ we will never forget you, have fun in puppy heaven!

Mutt 12-03-2007 09:01 AM

awwwwwwwww - poor CJ. sorry :(

you loved him and i'm sure he knew it.

CIVMatt 12-03-2007 09:04 AM

Twisted Dave 12-03-2007 09:04 AM

WebairGerard 12-03-2007 09:10 AM

That sucks. Had to do that to my child hood dog not too long ago. :(

JohnnyJames 12-03-2007 09:12 AM

Sorry to hear it.

pocketkangaroo 12-03-2007 09:14 AM

I've been in your shoes man and I know there is nothing that can be said to make you feel better. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you take solace in knowing your dog was loved and certainly lived a great life.

pornguy 12-03-2007 09:22 AM

We had to put one of ours to sleep a year ago last month. We still miss her all the time.

~Ray 12-03-2007 09:26 AM

go get another dog or two from the pound/shelter. You will feel better saving their lives. You are obviously a sound pet owner.

His immune system was so fucked up with the cushings disease and the cancer in his lymph nodes. He was still getting infection with taking 3 different antibotics. It would of been a mess.

who 12-03-2007 09:34 AM

So many people just don't understand how pets like dogs and cats can be part of the family. More so with dogs, I think. They aren't just animals. They're people.

But don't be sorry for your loss, be happy for the memories :)

czarina 12-03-2007 09:36 AM

I'm so very sorry. How old was he?

Tony, Mandy..my heart reaches out to you. May your sadness soon fade and all the memories bring back smiles, knowing you did a world of good for that little guy. The last 2+ years in your home was his slice of heaven. That you need to remember.
Big hugs for you both...

Sorry to hear that

CDSmith 12-03-2007 10:27 AM

Sorry to hear that Tony.

Like I posted in the other thread, I recently had to put my old pooch down. Had him for over 17 years and although it was his time to go losing him was one of the hardest things I've had to deal with.

Also like I mentioned in the other thread, if you ever need to talk about it I can certainly relate to what you're going through. Shoot me an ICQ anytime.

media 12-03-2007 10:29 AM

Thats crappy... I had to give up my cat and my dog in my divorce since I was not able to take them with me.. Even that was soooo hard.. They were adopted out to good homes which makes me feel better.. but I still miss them so much..

Just think of all the good times you shared.. I'm sure they will always outweigh the bad.

SleazyDream 12-03-2007 10:29 AM

sorry man

Sarah_Jayne 12-03-2007 10:31 AM

Very sorry to hear it. My pups are only just about two years old and I have moments where I am consumed about what I will do if this time comes for them.

I hadn't opened this thread until now since I figured CJ referred to TGP/traffic Circle Jerks.

So sorry to hear that your dog passed. :(

It sounds like he had a good life...
