don't count your chickens ....altho I'm happy!! I got screwed on a USD payment last week :(

spooky181 12-03-2007 04:15 PM

It could do anything, but I think we all hope the USD fires up soon...:winkwink:

Mutt 12-03-2007 04:19 PM

it's artificially being lowered - it will always be in Canada's interest to have a lower dollar than the US - they were caught off guard with the rapid runup and now they are sending it back down - anywhere from 80-90 cents is where it should be.

By the way, bank of canada will be making announcement tomorrow on interest rates. If they cut the rate, expect the CDN dollar to get stronger again, otherwise it should stay the same. I'm not taking chances and converted a chunk of CDN at par.

Yes. Go long the USD/CAD tomorrow at 1:45 and wait for the news. Set your stops correctly in case they do raise or stay the same (unlikely but just in case)

Naughty-Pages 12-03-2007 09:33 PM

hiring models in canada when the USD was stronger was a nice perk...

one can only hope things spring back

(not quite as nice as the Russian and Asian chicks at $50/day lol, but when you figure in hotel and airfare, Canada was cheaper ;) LOL )

Canadian govm't wants to keep it at about .95. Good for both countries.

Your right, I got that backwards. Either way, I don't know what BoC will do so I just cashed out a bunch at par to be on the safe side.
