Just Listening to Rush Live (1992)

Well I can't say I would be a total fan yet, haven't heard that much from them, the way I found them was Geddy Lee featured in Bass Player magazine.. then I got the 2121 (or the "number" album) and kinda liked it...

BUT

This album kicks serious ass, to play this in a trio ...

Geddy Lee / Neil Peart - such a killing rhytmic duo!

It has their own style and feeling / atmospheric riffs / guitar arrangments / Neil is playing some of the most creative drums around / Geddy has a great Fender Jazzbass sound / drive / everything. Alex is just great in what he does - creating the melodies and moods around the songs..

I am kind of tempted to see them live and explore more..

I can't stand Rush, sounds like Christian music to me.

The album is 2112..I always liked their older stuff much better

Was this the Roll The Bones tour?

I saw them twice on that one, and both shows were phenomenal. Pink Floyd was touring at the same time, and they were good, too.

Ahh, the old days. . .

NVM, I just looked closer at the pic you posted. DUH.

Amazing show.

I was working in mainstream media at the time and had front row center seats for one show. My girlfriend at the time thought I was hot shit.

I thought I was gonna get laid.

One of us was wrong :)

it takes time to get adjusted to them, I skip some of the tracks time from time, but, especially from a perspective of someone who tried to play in the past, you gotta give them a serious credit..

RUSH is an awesome live band, love their classics like Exit... Stage Left

Is it a bootleg? Never heard of such live album as an official one...

Geddy Lee 12-03-2007 07:26 PM

Glad you liked it. I should mention that Alex has ridden mine and Neil's coat tails long enough. We'll be auditioning some new blood soon.

It doesn't have a totally clean sound, sometimes the sound bounces from left to right so it's very much possible. But still good enough to listen to and play loud..

From Wikipedia:

Quote:

Different Stages is a live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1998. The bulk of the first and second discs were recorded at Chicago's New World Music Center, during the 1994 Counterparts tour and the 1997 Test for Echo tour. The third disc is taken from a performance at the Hammersmith Odeon during the A Farewell to Kings tour in 1978.

This album was compiled and released in the wake of the deaths of Neil Peart's daughter and wife in 1997 and 1998, respectively. The album was dedicated to their memories. Production of the album occurred during Peart's recovery from his loss as chronicled in his book "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road" and as a consequence he was not involved in the production of the album.
Quote:

This is the only live album Rush released that contains "2112" in its entirety (All the World's a Stage omits the Discovery and Oracle sections, Rush in Rio contains only the Overture and Temples of Syrinx sections, and R30 Live in Frankfurt has the Overture, Temples of Syrinx and Grand Finale sections. Exit...Stage Left and A Show of Hands do not contain any section of "2112".)

The album is dedicated to the memory of Neil Peart's daughter Selena, who died in a car accident in 1997, and his wife Jacqueline, who died of cancer 10 months later.

"Suddenly... You were gone... from all the lives you left your mark upon. In loving memory of Jackie and Selena." This text can be read from the inside of the album. The lyrics featured are from the song "Afterimage" a song from their 1984 album Grace Under Pressure.

hehe. I had fucked her before this, but the time we had after the rush show was amazing.

However, I must add, the chick I had on the Pink Floyd Division Bell tour was even more amazing.

On a "dick hard" scale, Rush loses, badly. Michelle, with her youthful body and 38F natural tits tipped the scales, in several ways.

Oh to be young again . . .
