Alexa's numbers are all weird. If, based on their info, you map out last month for the top 20 you would have:

no one at spot #7
Wiki and Baidu at #9 tied
No one at #10
No one at #12
Rapid and qq at #13 tied
Friendster and Microsoft at #17 tied
18 and 19 would also be blank but they could be from names dropping out of the top 20.

I doubt very much that there were ties in the previous month for a spot much less three spots.

It's pretty sad to see two sites with 99% stolen content in the top 20....so many lost signups....

Yeah, I can't fucking believe how these sites are still able to operate. Something has got to be done, ISPs should just start blocking them.

yumma 12-04-2007 05:57 PM

all the same along years

:2 cents:Alexa is a pretty useless and very inaccurate tool.

And lose all their customers to the ISP that doesn't block them?

Socks 12-04-2007 06:56 PM

That brings up something.. The only way to really lay the smack down on a somewhat worldwide basis would be to have some sort of "council" that sets rules for ISP's..

How fuckin crazy corrupt would that shit be, plus that's bringing a police presence the world's internet.. can you say scary?

Do we really want that, for the sake of money?

It's interesting to see those two sites with amazing amounts of traffic that have tons of ads on them yet no one is offering them even $50 million to buy them.

But, if the YouTube Vs. Viacom judgement comes in favor of YouTube I expect to see them sell for billions.

Pornwolf 12-04-2007 07:01 PM

Is anyone else amazed at Friendster's comeback?

I think their business model is the perfect one now that we are all over-friended by people we aren't really interested in on other social nets.
