Official Staement From OCCash on Downtime 12/7 and 12/8
 
We are sorry to report that there was some intermitant downtime Friday 12/7 and
Saturday 12/8. A controller at our host failed and caused both the A and the B
raid backup of our main database file to crash. We have re-installed nats and
made a 100% revovery on the drive.

Obviously, there were some lost sales during that time. Starting tomorrow we
will be figuring out how to best credit affiliates for the downtime. No rebills
have been been lost.

[email protected].

We appoligize for any problems this might have caused.

Good move to bring it public and offer your affiliates some kickback for the downtime, even though it really is not necessary. Every online business has problems occasionally. It is just part of doing business on the net.

Jay, my suggestion to compensate for the downtime is to take the average number of signups per hour, multiply by downtime, credit that.

That's how we do it anyhow :)

Some other programs launch a promo right after downtime as another compensation method.
