Can you limit access to domains by State?

Let's say I don't want the state of Rhode Island to visit my site. Is it possible to deny these visitors? I've always been curious about that.

yup, http://www.maxmind.com/app/city

it says they are only about 85% accurate for the states though

Technically, yes.

As already noted, unless you pay for an 'always updated' system, it's not going to help you, and with proxies and IP tunneling so damn easy, it's fairly pointless.

With GEOIP... Anything is possible.

I know it's possible, because www.totallytabitha.com can't be reached within Arizona.
