Europeans: Today 9 more countries entered the Schengen Agreement
What do you think?
I love it - no stupid border controls anymore. When i travelled between Germany and Czech Republic i always had to stop, show my passport, wait for hours sometimes. Now i simply drive through like it's all one big country. great. :thumbsup |
Welcome on board I guess :)
|
As easy as traveling around the states now :thumbsup

that would be more like: no border controls between USA, Canada and Mexico. Everyone can go whereever he wants. :winkwink: |
Poland entered it as well today. We can drive right into germany now :)
|
I think its great news :)
what I cant understand is that 24 countries can all share a open border so that it makes trade and travel so easy and yet the USA seems determined to make it harder for canadians to enter thier country. Is canada high risk? :) |
I think it's AWESOME
|
Yeah, baby! We also joined the agreement!
|
I feel sorry for the Lithuanians - they had a doc here on the tv, these guys have to keep 1000+ miles borderline with Russia guarded. Guess who are gonna try to get into the EU the next months.

they dont wanna change to Euros dont wanna be a part of the EU and frankly a country which is that different where cost of life is that expensive isnt something most ppl within the EU are waiting for :2 cents: |
this should definitely drop the cost of drugs & illegal weapons across the entire union......killer!
i bet a gram of "something" costs way less in chzech than in germany |
Yeah, finally my mate from Moscow who lives in Prague for like 8 years already will be able to travel around Europe without visa as well..
They have there the clause that if you have the "permanent resident" status in one of the Schengen countries you are regarded as their citizen at the borders. |
But...
over here in America they're teechin' us the more freedom we get, the more the 'turrorists' win. :warning:helpme !!! |

I loved it when I was in Europe, you just had the sign that you're leaving Germany and entering Belgium. No passport checks stop, no baggage checks, you just go and you're in a different country. :D
|
you mean there are still people in those countries that havent already left to go to western and central europe already?
Austria has soooo many fucking people from the east here its not even funny. im not so sure open borders with some of these new Schengen countries was such a good idea. do you really want your security to be ran by ex-soviet states? these people are still way behind the rest of europe and lower wages lead to more corruption and bribery, which in turn leads to smuggling, theft, etc. now when you steal a car you only have to cross one border instead of two to get it out of the EU. great. |
Pretty cool. I was looking into Schengen a few weeks ago, now I can see even more countries. :)

Canada's big cities are 70% Chinese/Arabs/Pakistanians.

I went to a shopping center in London before I came here - every bar, cafe and shop was fully staffed by Poles. They get the same money as the Brits as we have a minimum wage that is paid as standard by most service and retial companies. So it isnt a cheap labour issue. They just work harder and better. |
The reasons they did that is because Europeans have low birth rates, so there will be nobody to pay taxes when they retire. The choice was simple: Eastern Europeans or Arabs/Turks/Asians.

They have to implement some sort of monitoring to prevent illegal organization to further expand their business. it was easier for them with the borders closed..imagine now. |

first of all: Italiens were already allowed to travel freely since years :winkwink: :1orglaugh second: within 30 kilometers left and right of the borders the controls will be much higher than before. and they will go after what looks suspicious, not generally everyone that just wants to travel from A to B and third: the border controls over the last 2 or 3 years were a joke anyways, most of the time they merely lifted their head from their newspapers or breakfast. |
