walmart, just watched the anti-walmart documentary
they just spent 2 hours bashing walmart on how efficient they are. looking at the families wealth and comparing it to how poor the workers are, in the US and other countries
walmarmovie.com imagine being able to build the biggest company in the US and getting bashed for how you did it. the company was built on low-prices, thats what drew the consumers, and they did it through keeping a lean workforce and low margins elsewhere it just goes to show you can argue anything. if you dont like capitalism, you have other options |
They also make the people they're buying from go back and make a cheaper product so they can keep those prices low..
and their gas isn't refined with protective additives.. so they can keep it cheaper too.. Lots of sensors burn out on cars running on their gas... |
They also treat their workers like shit. Paying dirt cheap. Not allowing them to work over 32 hours a week.
|
the documentary differently showed more of the bad that wal-mart has done and not so much good that they have done...lol
one side never tells the whole story... |

Yes, I am a Walmart hater. And it's sure not because I don't believe in free trade and capitalism. You won't find a union hater bigger than me. I lived in Scandinavia for almost 4 years and had to deal with the labor unions on a daily basis (as an employer paying full pay for 13 months of maternity leave... fuck me).
My experience with Walmart has been the same. During my 8 year hiatus from the adult biz I did some food business with Walmart. They killed us with their slotting practices (the buy-in to get a slot for your product in the coolers). Don't even get me started on their return policy. When you sent them an invoice, you could almost expect them to send you one back saying that you owed them money. I went through this same shit back in the mid-90's when I distributed software and 3-D gaming gear to CompUSA. FUCK THEM ALL. |
I still shop at Wal-Mart.... and I love it... so suck it haters :)
|
Wal-Marts to ghetto for me, I'll pay $1 more at Target but I don't have to interact with the Wal-Mart loving trash.

They told me when they hired me that they start out @ $7.00 but people dont like being a cashier so they throw in a little extra as an incentive...a whopping 25cents. The manager was serious as hell when he told me that too. we were constantly threatened to be fired if we even got 1 click of overtime.(the time clock was in clicks instead of mins...100clicks=1hr, 50clicks = 30 mins etc...) so you can imagine 1 click might be a little less than 1 min. gr8 place to shop but shitttttttty place to work.:2 cents: |
bump tht shit

It's not that easy for everyone to just go to school and get an education... people work shit jobs because they have no other choice. Say, a 18 year old single mother with no family or anyone to help out.. how the fuck is she going to afford school let alone find time?
Walmart creates TONS of jobs all over the world. They are USA's biggest employer... |

:thumbsup also most of their shit comes from China, personally I would not even wear underwear made there, the material / color can give you cancer. Those conniving oriental bastards would sell their hoe mom to save a penny.

Sweat shops are bad, but it's better than starving or turning to prostitution, no? It's not like every sweatshop in China kidnaps people and forces them to work. They work there because it's their best bet. If they raise wages in sweatshops, it wouldn't be worth having factories in China and therefore they wouldn't exist and the people would be unemployed.. Sweat shops = bad. No sweat shops = worse. Wal Marts = bad. No Walmart = worse. |
If you don't like Walmart, don't shop there.
|
No one is supposed to "start" working as the CEO. You are supposed to start in a shit job and work your way up. Do a good job, follow the rules, get a promotion or two, then move on.
I wish I had Wal-mart as a kid. Working there would have been a lot better than washing / scrubbing mountains of dishes, or serving blue hairs at the local steakhouse. I bet WalMart has put more vendors out of business than competitors. They are pricks to sell to. Whatever you sell them, you will get 1/2 back. |
WalMarts Rocks
|
As a capitalist i favor walmarts right to exist & do business how they choose.
As a decent human, i choose not to shop at walmart. |
Walmarts sucks the money out of the local economy. Mom and pop shops go out of business. The local supermarkets either close down or reduce their work force....
Walmart literally sucks the money out of the local economy by taking all profits and hauling it off to Bentonville to be stashed in the Waltons family vaults. Most companies usually re-invest in the local economy. What Walmart does is exploit the system to the max for their gain. |

they are so cuthroat to get their customers the lowest prices possible that they have horrible reputations among their suppliers and employees ;) its like when the fast food industry became big and pushed all the small mom and pop diners toi closing. |
I was impressed when they open 24 hours a day for the whole christmas season.
