Domainers: Step Inside
Regardless of my personal opinion, I would like to know the thought process behind the 'domain' strategy.
I understand the shorter domains that are high demand. I do get the names, and cities. Plus some of the other key phrases that would be good for marketing. Type in dot.coms's, ok. That said, when I see this... https://www.tdnam.com/trpHome.aspx?t=1 and the prices some people want on them. I have to wonder.. |
I'm not a domainer but....
pledgeofallegiance.com - $312,000 <-- Is there a sane human being that's willing to pay for this? |

i would low ball them... see if they bite... |
people can ask whatever they want
just because someone puts a $3000 price tag on a domain that is worth $5 doesn't mean anything |

But how some people can price these amounts for 'some' of these domains, and keep a straight face is pure comedy. |
myspacefatbabes.com ----$10,000
|
|
yfxo.com - $2,000 3 bids?
myspacegirls.com - $178,000 4 bids? :helpme |

for example, myspacegirls.com it says $178,000 price and 4 bids with "Offer" as the option.... I could offer $5 and it counts as a bid, the owner of the domain can then send me a counteroffer and ask $177,995.... and so on so it says '4 bids', but those 4 bids could be for under $20 for all we know the $178,000 price put up for those 'Offer' domains is just a number, put up by the guy that listed the domain I've seen domains sell for $5 there, and the very next day the guy that bought it has it listed for $5000 :1orglaugh |

So it's not like ebay. Myspacegirls is a good domain but there might be copyright issues. Regardless it's not worth $175,000 |
Yeah. I've had people buy sites I sold off, and then go run off to list the domain for sale on GD. I know this because they would forget to change something, so I would get the e-mail telling me some shit about an auction or whatever.
I would then respond to the buyer who would sheepishly laugh about it. |
on tdnam, if you see a domain with a little green "Bid" button, those are the ones that are like a normal auction, where you can see the current bid and you can bid $5 more than the last bid
you can put a max and it will bid automatically for you up to your maximum as well |
