Lace 01-11-2008 08:35 AM

m3 is sweet but I'm quite fond of Honda's, so I like the s2000. :)

LilBro 01-11-2008 08:52 AM

I agree, well under 70k and the s2000 is a real fun car to drive. Maybe a Nisan 350z as a convertible, but I'm not 100% sure I'd want one of those as a convertible. Looks better as a hard top.

Both are wel under 70k. hell you could probably buy both for 70k.

on the BMW's I'd rather have a Z4 vs the M3, but dunno if they are under 70k.

Karupted Charles 01-11-2008 10:31 AM

Audi TT is a good choice.

i had a 2001 s2k that i leased for 3 years. ALOT of fun but absolutely no luxury. If you are going to have it as a sole car be prepared for that. The ride is very stiff and and can only hold 1 bag of golf clubs haahahaha. I am very happy i upgraded to the boxster....

race car factor is a huge bonus with the s2000 for me .. for luxury, i want a backseat :)

We test-drove this.

Impressive. Not a big fan of American muscle-cars, but this one is different. Nice, 21mpg, the small engine as convertible can be bought below 50k. Test-drive it, doesn't cost anything. The only thing that's comparable to this is a 911 or an SL 500, and both cost 95+ grand.

Another good choice!!

But i suggest either lease this one or buy it used.. Great car. Maybe my favorite muscle car. (I have one)

But dont buy an American Sports Car or any American car new.. Get a preowned one. Lease turn in. Or lease one yourself.

farkedup 01-11-2008 12:10 PM

corvette really is the best option by far. get that suspension where its a switch to go from a sport tuned suspension to the normal driving one.

Jenny actually, there's plenty of people cracking 30MPG with it. On the freeways as long as you keep it in the 60-70MPH range you'll be hovering in the upper 20's easily. Manual transmission does get considerably better gas mileage from what I've seen.

No I don't own a C6 and don't plan to for another like 5 years. Personally I'd prefer spending down around $20k and getting a C5 and dropping maybe $10k on upgrades and still coming in around half the price of a C6 but thats just me. The C6 is so much nicer than a C5. I've owned a few C3's and a C4. They just make better daily drivers than my Mustangs did. Although I still own my '68 mustang ;)

My girlfriend NEEDED to have some special painted rims to match the whole thing. That added $2250 to the price. Overpriced I say, but I not going to argue with her. But yeah, the topless S models can top out close to $35k.

The last one we had, we drove for a year and sold it for more than we bought it for.

If you like little cars there probably aren't too many out there that are as much fun. When we take it out we get the same looks and questions I toss at the Ferrari owners I see from time to time.

bausch 01-12-2008 12:43 AM

Used mercedes SL500 or SL55, you can get a certified pre-owend one from the dealer for under 70k.

MINI + ANYTHING = gay

to be practical, they do have the best resale value of ANY production car + 40MPG so its tough to beat it if you're looking for an econo box.

Critik 01-12-2008 10:36 AM

I'm not as ballin' as you guys, but I've had my fair share of Euro... For only being 19 and buying my own cars, I don't think it's bad.

Car 1; 2000 BMW 328i
Car 2; 1998 BMW M3
Car 3; 2001 Audi A4

Next Car; 2002 Audi S4

Soon, I hope...

This is one of the best looking convertibles you can get ...

Alfa Romeo design kicks ass ... However I would never buy a convertible for my self.

Get a coupe. :)
