Still down almost 4hrs now :(
Not that i dont like Oxeo, they've been great with me so far but you know how the hosting biz is... a downtime and all previous work goes through the drain.

I cant contact their support also, i hope someone from Oxeo comes here to update us on the situtation.

~Ray 01-11-2008 12:07 PM

they are on icq support 24/7

Dont use ICQ. But i got a friend with the same issue and he spoke with them. An HD failed on that server along with the raid controllers so they are replacing the whole stack from the backups.

Hope its up soon. Will update everyone.

SteppenWolf 01-11-2008 01:09 PM

5 hrs so far.
Bump for an answer.

Its an isolated issue with the virtual server that you are hosted on, support is working to restore everything from backups. You can reach our support 24/7 via icq 161954530, email [email protected] or telephone 212.812.9073.

You can also contact me directly at [email protected]

Why would he do that when he can come here and post this thread, get absolutely nothing accomplished except wasting even more of your time when you could be fixing his issue had he contacted you privately? :)

SteppenWolf 01-11-2008 04:28 PM

Still down.
8hrs so far.

Bump for a solution.

Solution? Smoke a bowl. Sometimes things are out of your control. Sounds like this is one of those times.

TidalWave 01-11-2008 04:33 PM

the solution is in progress. restoring a server with full backups is not an easy or quick job.

I know how it is but it's so frustrating. Having your hosting down is a real proof of your character. :error

webair 01-11-2008 05:08 PM

solution - call oxeo! :winkwink:

SteppenWolf 01-11-2008 05:55 PM

No. I won't call. It's clear they are working on the issue. At this point, im just measuring how much time a company like Oxeo takes to react over a problem of this magnitude, so all the community here is aware of that info.

So, almost 10hrs down now.

Herb Kornfield 01-11-2008 07:16 PM

I dont get why posting about this for 10 hours down and not a call in.

That's just silly.

No kidding.

sandman! 01-11-2008 07:22 PM

im guessing you have no idea how long it can take to rebuild an array from a backup :(

I told you why. They found the problem already and they were working on it. And I was informed as well. So a call from me wouldnt solve the problem unless i could magically transfer a brand new HD with all the previous content by phone to them.

Since that was not the case i decided to keep everyone informed here about the time to issue this problem by Oxeo.

It's just getting fixed, so the aprox. time they took to address the problem was 12hrs aprox.

I dont, but 12hrs seems an awful lot of time to me. Specially if you have a 100% uptime guarantee in your website. :2 cents:

There is never 100% uptime even if they guarantee it. I would guess that you will get a discount or waived monthly fee if you asked. Would need to look at their TOS.

Dude, some things take time, and if this is a huge server with a ton of users on it, yeah, it may take even longer.
