how fast is your content served? testyourhost.com

this is a neat tool we came up with to demonstrate how much faster your content can be delivered through a Content Delivery Network.

who wants a surfer to cancel becaue its taking them 5 hours to download a 300 meg file?

Would be nice to know a little more info about the remote nodes. i.e. what their bandwidth and IPs are :2 cents:

each Test Node has a 100 Mbps burstable line and is located in a well-peered data center with multiple carriers. We cant give out the specific IPs but if there is a point that interests you, we can run that test for you manually

How long is a test supposed to take? I assume this isn't just downloading a file once in real time and reporting the results, as it seems to be taking a while.

Running the test but did anyone else have an incredibly hard time reading that security code?

Yes I did, I have no idea why people use difficult to read captcha images
as scripts can't read them anyway regardless if they're easy to read and
that's it's only purpose really. So all this Mixed Case decorated characters
are only annoying for the user

You should keep the CAPTCHA verification just use a readable font type
which is used to generate the verification code....:thumbsup

SmokeyTheBear 02-01-2008 01:06 PM

i think spacash is using this now for their content

The server at www.testyourhost.com is taking too long to respond.

Anybody knows a similar system? (free or paid, I don't care)
