What country
If you were going to retire out of country (USA), to a country that wasn?t the total pits, and had a great exchange rate. What country would that be?
This question was mentioned in someone else?s thread, but I only got a couple of responses. If I recall one was Costa Rica and another was Nicaragua. |
Aruba or the UK..
|
There would be some requirements;
Peacefull people Good surf Lots of vegetation |
UK... maybe:thumbsup

Japan.
|
Australia
|
I would retire in my home country Armenia, where everything is sooo cheap. For example taxi is like $2-3, dinner for two at a fancy restaraunt is about $6, so basically for $500 a month you could live like a king there
|
Japan is cool but is hella expensive.
Canada has a good exchange rate but.. I dont want you guys coming here permanently - go to thailand :) |

What about Canada?

Everytime I am there I feel odd. Its like the USA but the differences are so slight yet so numerous that it feels like I am in the twilight zone. |
eru - can you speak japanese? it is tough to get aroundin english there... you need a translator.
sex is cheap sure, but the girls in the nuki kyaba are NOT good looking. And Japanese massage bar is NOT what you see in the movies - you can get an ugly old hag before you get a stunning ex actress. This is why my partner over there wont let me go to them... although, kyaba kura is cool if you get a girl who speaks some english. :) and the twelve year recession really hasnt done much except make the japanese guys sleep in their suits in the train stations in between working two jobs. kinda sad. no beggars tho. Japan is strange. Hokkaido is beautiful tho.great country. But, I went thru about $2500 US in 10 days and I didnt pay for a hotel.... it is an expensive place. |

Canada sucks |

First of all - exact same opportunities? please. Do you know anything about history? We had an anchor around our feet - Great Britain. Among other things. Care to list some reasons why Canada sucks? Would be entertaining to see what you think. |

And as for canada sucking....there have been about a million top 10 lists already posted on this board. I suggest you use the search feature to educate yourself. And as for "other things"...haha. Canada has the most resource filled land mass on the planet. Yet has 1/10th the population and is ranked not even in the top 10 economically. Compare this to Japan which doesn't have jack squat and is 2nd in the world economically! Its a pathetic mess of a socialist slum up there in canada with no one having a clue how to manage their own backyard. I laugh whenever i'm in "weird america"..hehe |
I could say Turkey, if US/England and some other countries wasn't fucked us badly. Its still good
but before, there was no crime high as now (still not high as USA) there was people trust eachother and mmmmh turkish hospitality anyway, if you like some German chicks, there is named ALANYA in Antalya city, which is %90 German. You my like it ;) |

Pardon my ignorance - how do I not know my history? No shit you gained independance. Think about how developed the US was then compared to Canada. Well go on, hit the bowl and think...
Canada at the time didnt NEED to get out from under the yoke of GB. GB kept us alive and supported us. In that day and age Canada was still nothing more then a bunch of fur trappers a few miners and loggers. The US was slightly more developed then Canada was at the time. PAL :) How the fuck does using the search function show me what you think sucks about Canada? Must be incorporating some ESP shit or sumpin? We have the most resource filled land on the planet - definitely. But if you dont realise that we got only 30 million people to utilise the resources then you are straight up retarded. Comparing us to Japan is just fuckin retarded as well. I retract my prior comment about hittin the bowl and suggest you put the smoke away. Japan has been around for a helluva lot longer than Canada and had a crazy population even hundreds of years ago. Your arguments are pretty wacked out. Here is some shit I like about Canada off the top of my head. almost no pollution. if I get sick and go to the hospital, I dont die or take out a second mortgage. people are mostly laid back and polite. I am not worried about gettin car jacked, shot in the back, mugged or ass raped. Although, it seems some members of this board are quite worried about this type of shit. judgin by the freaky home security, in house armory and all. I like making US$ and spending in CAD$ :) Shit I dont like. Taxes are fuckin high. Government is run by idiots... hmmm, cant think of nothing else right now but I am sure shit will come to me :) I laugh whenever I visit the US and see all the ignorant, fat people who believe they are the center of the world. I mean, some of them may be large enough to have their own gravitational pull (thanks mcdicks!) - scary shit! Funnier thing is, some of those people are going to try and sue fast food chains! ahhahaha. This is when I laugh and say - only in the good ol' US of A.... :thumbsup |
You had good words for Canada. I have not been there. Must be a good country. I like Newzealand.

I'm leaving, so the paradise will have a one free place quite soon! Seriously ...yes, Thailand is a paradise if you are looking the place where $$$ is the king. Meaning one $ gives you at least ten times more than in US or Europe. |
At least don't move to the Netherlands, we got enough people allready

Anymore suggestions? Keep in mind I am asking about countries that have great exchange rates. Some of the ones mentioned, I doubt have great exchange rates.
|
Who said the UK? I love it here, but the exchange rate, high cost of living, and so on is a real bitch. Exactly the opposite of half of the criteria.
|
stay in the great america
|
I was thinking that too. I love the UK but it isn't the place to go if you want to take your US money and be suddenly rich on far off soil.

hahahaha I am loving Canadian humor - now I see why Alan Thicke and Michael J Fox are so funny. I believe Amerika declared independence in 1776, not 1996 |
Pues Mexico lindo. Claro que si.

people always comment on the subtle differences between Canada and the US. Canada arose through evolution while the US arose through revolution and civil war.
the major differences between Canada and the US are summed in the use of four different words in our founding documents. American society is based on 'life, liberty, and the pusuit of happiness' while Canadian society was founded on 'peace, order, and good government' really quite different bases on which to form societies. and High Quality... if you ever need medical treatment and don't have insurance.... god help ya.. |
