Internext - The best in years?
I think so. NETbilling did a tremendous amount of business, our Porn Poker Tour Suite was hoppin' til 5am and I think the Palms was an excellent Venue.
Chris, Renee and their team really went all out to make sure it was a success. Hats off to AVN!! Discuss? |
It was a great show :)
|
it was my first show, but many people were saying it was the best in years. i had a great time and got plenty of biz done. :thumbsup

We were at the first IA2000 show where they brought the Adult Internet in with the original Phone Sex guys. That was back in 1995 and there was only about 40 Internet industry people there :winkwink:
The next year, in 1996, there were quite a few hundred. Carol xoxoxo |
Mitch - thanks for you kind words - coming from you it is a tremndous statement.
We really busted our ass to create a show custom tailored for our unique industry and crowd. OK I sleep for a week now.... |
Rain worked out well I thought. Much easier environment to network than the traditional boring booths at convention centers.
|
We had a fantastic time...and the ARS/Webmaster Central party was excellent!:thumbsup
The problem is...Vegas fucked up my internal clock and now its 2:30am here at home, but only 11:30 in Vegas. I still have 6 more hours of partying to do....:1orglaugh Thanks AVN! |
It looked like a great show, damn and I missed it :(

Your party rocked the Palms - thanks for opening it up to everyone! |
considering how bad the last two years were, that would not be difficult

i agree... was by far best show yet and very successful for business for our ProfitX.com program and AdultDesign.com
Parties were good too : ) and i left the palms up a whopping $210.50 WOOT WOOT |
At first, in looking at the map before going in, it was confusing... but after walking the floor, it turned out to be a great arrangement.
the way the club is laid out, it always provides for movement. people were always walking around and passing by booths. in talking with several booth sponsors, they liked the fact that people would always be walking by, and they could sit down instead of stand all day LOL. Cybernet's "corridor cruising" can certainly be given the nod for coming up with this style of booth presentation. The security guards were really strict. If they did not allow boobies to be showing in Rain, a sign at the front entrance probalby should have been posted like was done where it said that filming of the event would be occuring. One girl got kicked out because she flashed her boobs to the keyboard player of Everclear. I can understand about a 'no boobs' policy on the casino floor, but Rain was exclusive to adult, and it was an adult convention. Alot of biz talk was done on the floor and especially at the "circle bar". Having a place where people can informally get together is always a great plus for picking the location. The palms is definitely a good location to come back for next year. For those on a budget, book at the Gold Coast for next year. Its right across the street, and if book in advance, its $35/night. i booked last minute and paid $70/night. I heard that Rose travel was sending people to MGM as the "over flow", rather than Gold Coast.... I realize that events make money off the room bookings.. so maybe reserving a block at Gold Coast to get a cut from there would offset the potential loss from this tip. Alot of newbiew do come to the show.. these are the guys that would be attending panels, etc. By being able to spend less on hotels, they can budget for the flight to come out. the future of the industry is having more new people and more new ideas come in. I had a great show, met and chatted with lots of people. The show floor was great. The fantasy suite parties for fun and diverse. Fight the :2 cents:! |
the show was good, the floor could of been better, the VIP booth didnt have names of who was inside them, and the lights could of been a bit brighter with the music a bit lower :) thats my thoughts

Brandon- Thanks for the input and your experience! Too often people will not give us feedback and we need to guess. This format and location came out of a multitude of meetings myself and our team had with clients trying to perfect show to meet the needs of attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. As for the room rates... we had an insanely low $219.00 room rate at the palms - we tend to book make arrangements with nicer hotels (Westin, Palms, etc) because our crowd likes those hotels. I believe the cheaper options were available all the way up to the show (at nearby hotels) - that a far cry from the $700 rooms at the Venetian in years past. We will continue to listen to feedback and make nesscesary adjustments. CHEERS! |
Dammit ! I was hoping this one sucked since i didn't go. Ah well...
|
i liked it lots....the show floor made sure everyone walked by every booth.
i thought it was really well done, and there were lots of good people there so the combo of a good show and good people gets the thumbs up from me |
hey chris...only feedback from us, our cabana, #1 was not that bright. We only had 2 lights compared to other cabanas that had 3 or 4. We had to improvise with a desk lamp....music was a bit loud at times.
2 very minor issues. Great Show and good job!!! Very happy we went with a cabana : ) |
Was a great time for sure.....Mitch...was good seeing you as it was all the old schoolers coming out of the woodwork lately....
The playing card girls at the GFY party were smoking hot.....i believe they were your Mitch....kudos for that eye candy!! |

I thought it was a productive show and i agree the layout worked well. I have nothing to compare to since this was my first but the palms overall wasn't very impressive IMO.

I was at the Red Rock Hotel while in vegas.. wow.. what a hotel. It was really swanky.. tho in looking around the clientele didn't support the swankness.. a step down from the "palms crowd", but for a show, who cares right LOL. The problem with Red Rock Hotel is its too far off the strip for taxi cab fares. The Palms is a good location as its a straight shot to the airport. Fight the location, location, location! |

A big thanks to all the sponsors (Pussycash, GT Bill, Too Much Media Segpay and Robomail) for the closing party with Everclear. Open bar + a great rock show + time to chat with people after the hustle and bustle of the show was a great ending point. A lot of people went home early and missed this party, but it was a great final networking opportunity to wind down and do some last minute biz chats. Fight the early birds! |
I was quite impressed with the turnout at the seminars.
The parties were fun as hell and I got quite the biz done! Great work AVN! |
I think AVN did a great job in re-inventing the show! Though thePalms as a hotel was disappointing... :pimp

It was fun speaking on that panel with you at AEE. Mitch |
Great show for us as well. It was nice to finally get the chance to meet several of our clients face to face....ICQ relationships work up to a point:-)
|
I thought it was the best Vegas InterNext in years !!!
Of course for the first show at a new place it will need some tweaks, but it's a MAJOR improvement then the past years... Good job to the AVN crew |
Congrats on another great show.
Are the dates for Miami confirmed yet Chris? |

I think this was the best Vegas Internext show in at least the past 3 years.
The only negative feedback I've heard at all was that perhaps the show floor was a little too loud to have a good conversation and at times it was difficult to find a place to sit down and have a meeting - the bars and retaurants got pretty packed up with people having meetings. I thought the scale of the show was excellet. The show floor was the right size for the amount of people and everyone was generally in a small area - lots of networking opportunities. |

Hey Chris, any hints on the surprises for that show? |
Sorry I didnt get to meet you Mitch. I met with Karen. I need to make some more money to be in your circle.
Soo I'll get back to work and hit you up in the future :) |

And the VIP booths on the third floor..... No names outside of the booths so you had no idea what you were walking into. |

I already have several items i will change for next year - if those are the biggest complaints I think we are rock'n. Sorry we didnt cross paths steve. |
It was way too loud when I went in the fist day to check it out.. I only stayed in there for about two hours then left.. I'm over the whole show floor thing.. $300 was a bit overpriced in my opinion, and considering I didn't want any of the food there I don't see that being an incentive either.. You also had to pay an insane price for a drink.. I paid $8 per corona, luckily TMM/Segpay opened up their bar for us and we got some nice Patron.. Thanks again John! And Fred, thank you much for spending the time with me to walk me through those products. We'll be getting started this week.
I didnt go back in the next day.. I stayed out walking around the bar and talking to various people as they came out of the show floor... But for those into the show floor thing, overall the walk by format was pretty cool.. Maybe this will be refined even more for next year... |
This thread is worthless without pics...

I thought that it was a very worthwhile show for myself as a content producer. The Palms was okay as a venue even if the rooms left a little to be desired. (No desk in my room, the shower didn't drain properly.)
I didn't attend any of the seminars, but the show floor was interesting and parties were great. There were lots of opportunities for informal networking all over the place which I took advantage of. Only bad thing as usual for a Vegas show is that in order to talk business with people I have to subject myself to inhaling all the poisonous fumes from the thick cloud of stale cigarette smoke which pretty much makes me ill the whole week. I am still trying to detoxify myself from the ordeal, and it was bad enough that I can almost feel the cancer growing in my body already. |
definitely!!!! the skybox set up is awesome too, you can actually sit down and talk business.
hats off to Chris ant the whole AVN crew. |
I agree. Chris and the AVN team did a great job delivering an excellent show. Great job :thumbsup
