yes, a couple years ago had death in the family, shook me up. Decided to get out of Los Angeles for awhile, buy a home somewhere, and get my head right- get back to what I enjoy, spend time with family...

Here I am, 2+ years later,... I took a year or so away from GFY thats for sure... too much money to be made out there...

well i had to buy here first because thats where my family is, so if i want to own a home where my family is i didnt really have a choice *where*

but my second, I want in Northern California.

You'll be suprised how fast the first one takes your time with all the work that WILL come up .... from mere decorating to all out building, There is always something that needs to be done.

I came close to buying another house for rental in my neighborhood - even made an offer. Thankfully they turned it down. I enjoy buying/owning land more than the hassles of another house.

i was thinking about buying a vacation home in northern michgan, it would be cheap, and a great place to vacation in the summer... but i didnt want to deal with all the extra work.

We'll see when it comes time to sell :thumbsup Right now I'm trying to buy a lot next to one I own. It's my lot, then their lot, then the phone company owns the next lot. So if I could buy the middle lot, someone could straddle the property line of the two lots and have an acre of land with no chance of someone building next to them (mine is a corner lot). But it's owned by a church someone donated it to and since they don't have to pay taxes on it, apparently they are in no hurry to sell property that's basically free for them. :disgust

I was just looking at the view from the lot next to mine in the winter - it's awesome. I'll sell it when I sell my house as I don't want anyone living next to me :winkwink:

I want to buy land and put vacation homes on them.. so I can visit when I want and rent it out the rest of the time.
