Visa affecting AVS?

well, will it?
doesn't look like there will be much danger, the surfer doesn't feel like they're buying a single product, but a pass to a lot of sites. they are less likely to ditch it after one site and charge back.

whats the opinion here?

Fletch XXX 10-02-2002 07:10 PM

it wont.

True but who knows how long it takes any one pud wacker to pop his cookies? and then chargeback? Free porn?

When this started years ago should have been a rule

"all porn sales are FINAL"

now we got this mess. them coroporate clowns ain't very bright, just greedy.

In the end somone will takeover processing porn transacction, and with no chargebacks, but they will check the sites like AVS do and it better be up to standard.

just my 2cents

for now, AVS seems the most stable biz model for ppl looking for a low risk environment.

We have been told by our people that this will have no effect on our business model.

The AVS Sytems themselves will have to deal with all this; it shouldn't have an affect on their webmasters.

Pornkings 10-03-2002 01:22 AM

Not sure about the AVS's but That is why we launched our $1 trial for a month they don't feel pressured to cancel in a 3 day free or paid trial.

Like I said before its all about the deal you give the surfers to keep them from canceling or charging back.

cool
with any luck more ppl will be needing to get avs sites built :)

Of course it will affect it, but in a positive way...can you guess how many webmasters are now migrating their paysites into premium AVS sites? I'm sure more than a few :2 cents:

it will be interesting to see what form this takes, and the impact it will have on the existing avs's.

That's right. In regards to Visa, it's the AVS company (not the webmasters) dealing with the CC Processors. So this should have no effect on current webmasters. Also, webmasters that are thinking about launching a paysite but don't want to take the risk can start off by creating a Premium AVS site. It's a good way for them to make some money and decide if a Paysite is what they really want.
